Commercial Description:
Cask: Seasonal - Winter and Spring.
Smooth and satisfying, this example of an historic style of beer derives its rich, chocolatey character from a blend of Brown and Chocolate malts in the brew. Its notable coffee notes and creamy finish make it a wonderful accompaniment to many sweet foods – especially chocolate pudding. 5.4% ABV.

NOTE: Most Fuller’s beer in the US is served by handpump kegs and not a cask. Ask your server.

Cask (Gallows bird, Espoo)
Very rich, burnt chocolate. Succulent. Refreshingly watery on the taste, one for quaffing. Sweet burnt aftertaste. Wonderful.

Cask (Kuikka, Helsinki)
Very dark ruby, almost black, healthy head. Slightly sharp sour aroma. Rich malty body, alas a bit sour. Oh, man, I want this beer at its best.

Cask (Angleterre, Helsinki) - last pint from the barrel. Almost black, think persistent head. Sharp appley aroma - hints of end-of-barrel. Creamy dark burnt roast, also a little crotchy and pissy. Sharp hoppiness, full bodied. So many good things are fighting to get through - my god this will be amazing fresh! Will re-rate (on Friday soon afterwards, I hope!)

Cask at the Mad Bishop and Bear, Paddinton. Coffee, roasted malt, nuts, oat flakes. Velvety, tasty, lovely beer. They should have this on cask regularly.

Porter-like appearance with a good head. Chocolate and coffee in the scent. Watery with some dryness at the end. Berries and milk chocolate in the mouth. Good.

Cask conditioned at The Joint Stock, Birmingham. Dark brown with ruby hints and white head. At last, how many years have I sought this one out in cask, I just new they would have it on in here. Full fruity and sweetish, maybe not true to the original London Porter style where there would have been an acidic sourness, but pretty good all the same. Some coffee husk and background hazelnuts, very good and well worth the search.

Cask at the Mawson Arms/Fox and Hounds at the brewery.Dark ruby red with a rustic cream head; rich chocolate aroma; immediate hit of smokey roasted chocolate malt when tasted, very dry and bitter, then developing a potr-like sweetness with hints of tobacco and coffee; finish is dry and very moreish. Even better than the bottled version.

Cask-conditioned at the Old Fish Market, Bristol 16/11/07. Near black with a decent tan head that left plenty of lacing. Aroma of licorice, roasted notes, dark chocolate and earthy hops. The flavour started with some sweet malt, before coffee and chocolate kicked in with a dry finish. Excellent.

Cask (obviously). Black with cream, brownish head. Thin bodied for a porter I think. Roasted malt. Some coffee notes? Not bad.
