Very rich, burnt chocolate. Succulent. Refreshingly watery on the taste, one for quaffing. Sweet burnt aftertaste. Wonderful.

Cask (Kuikka, Helsinki)
Very dark ruby, almost black, healthy head. Slightly sharp sour aroma. Rich malty body, alas a bit sour. Oh, man, I want this beer at its best.

Cask (Angleterre, Helsinki) - last pint from the barrel.
Almost black, think persistent head. Sharp appley aroma - hints of end-of-barrel. Creamy dark burnt roast, also a little crotchy and pissy. Sharp hoppiness, full bodied. So many good things are fighting to get through - my god this will be amazing fresh! Will re-rate (on Friday soon afterwards, I hope!)
greig (70), Hamilton, New Zealand Oct 8, 2008 DAMN! Tried this several times while in England, and rating the bottled version reminded me I should dig out my notes on the cask version. It’s just such an incredible beer, warming, fruity, rich, not at all sweet. Reminds me of chocolate milk in its texture and bits of the flavour. I wish we could get this on cask in NZ. Wombler (27), , Greater London, England Oct 4, 2008 Available every November/December time in Fullers pubs as a seasonal. This was based on 2007 cask. Dark witha thickish creamy brown head. Chocolate and coffee are both there. Lovely mouthfeel and very moreish. A lovely drop. MrAleman (112), guildford, Surrey, England Sep 1, 2008 Updated: Sep 17, 2008Not available on tap much, but did find it on one occasion and believe it or not tasted just as good. Sadly I try to avoid chocolate/coffee flavoured stouts. PaulHegedus (117), Brampton, Ontario, Canada Aug 28, 2008 Cask at Volo, December 2007. Almost black with a creamy head and coffee aroma. This has wonderfully strong flavours: creamy, milky dark roasted coffee beans with full chocolate, some fruit. Long lasting. The mouthfeel is much thicker than the canned import I’m accustomed to in Toronto. albertane (300), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England Jul 15, 2008 Cask at the Derby Beer Festival. I’d been eagerly looking forward to trying this dark brown beer with its appealing bubbly head. It was smooth on the palate with a rich, warming flavour of chocolate and toasty malts. More sweet than bitter, it had a slight smokiness.
