COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle and keg (USA): pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

Location/Date:January 29th, 2012.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown opaque with red head.
Aroma: Aroma is of chocolate, malt, roastyness.
Taste:Roasty malt with some chocolate - nothing crazy as this is tradiational, but it’s done really well.
Palate:Smooth body, slick, quick aftertaste.

Summary: I can see why this is the highest rated beer from England and of the style. It simply sets the bar.

Bottle at home. It pours very dark brown, with a light tan head. The nose is smoke, tar, treacle, burnt malt and some green vegetables. The taste is roasted malt, ash, charcoal, bitter chocolate, coffee, cola, treacle and plastic, with a dry-roasted finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not bad, but not overly drinkable.

Tasted from bottle into a shaker. Poured a dark reddish brown with moussy beige foam, long-lasting with fine lace. Phenomenal aromas of rising dough, brown bread, molasses, mild English hops, fruity ale yeast esters. Flavors of rich malt sweetness, bread, toast, caramelized brown sugar, plums, toffee, coffee and cream, dark chocolate, raisins, tangy hops bitterness. Medium body, full mouthfeel, long-lasting fruity aftertaste. Delicious, a near-perfect beer.

Cask at bull & castle. Looks as a porter should - deep ebony with a thick dirty brown creamy head. Delicious rich roasted slightly smokey aroma, taste of roast malt, chocolate, bitter liquorice; deliciously rich mouthfeel with a smooth and satisfying finish. Excellent stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Bruhaus in Wellington, served cold. Not much aroma as served really cold. Rich dark colour with full tan head and good lacing. Aroma of sweat roasted malts. Smooth and creamy look, feel and taste. Caramel, almonds, roasted chocolatey malt taste that kinda left me feeling full after a couple.
