Brown bottle, 500 ml, best before date: 24/12/05; eye: black with ruby reflections, nice beige head that falls too rapidly, lacing; nose: roasted malt, black chocolate, and a third unknown scent; mouth: quite smooth almost velvety, quite smooth at the start, then appears the bitterness and the roasted malt, finale where the roasted malt takes over with a hint of vanilla at the very end, the flavors increase in intensity within a given sip, lightly sweet, mildly bitter, full in the mouth, creamy texture, good and nice carbonation, lightly astringent; overall: quite nice even on a warm day after working in the backyard by a 30˚C temperature

Bouteille brune, meilleure avant : 24/12/05; oeil : noire avec des reflets rubis, belle mousse beige mais qui tombe assez rapidement, dentelle; nez : malt torréfié, chocolat noir, une troisième odeur qui m’est inconnue; bouche : très douce, velouté même, tout en douceur au début, puis apparaît l’amertume et la torréfaction, finale où le côté torréfaction prend le dessus avec à la toute fin une pointe de vanille, les saveurs montent en intensité du début à la fin de la gorgée, légèrment sucrée, moyennement amère, pleine en bouche, texture crémeuse, bonne carbonatation, légère astringence; en résumé : très bonne même après avoir travaillé dans la cour par une chaleur de 30 ˚C

Aug 16, 2008 Bottle: Poured a dark black with a reddish tint, head is medium and tan. The aroma is light roasted malt. Taste is roasted malt with chocolate hints. Finish is dry and coffee bean.

Aug 14, 2008 Aroma is smoky, bready malts, light chocolate. Flavor has a lot of the same traits. Its also has a light silk palate that i find works well with its body. Now im wondering why i kept putting this beer off. Good stuff.

in english pint glass it poured a very dark brown with a light brown head. This beer could have a viscosity rating of 5w30. It clings to the side of the glass. Nice lacing. Got earthy notes in the nose; nuts and caramel. perfect balance between smooth, sweet, creamy and bitter. Highly recommend this beer.

Aug 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with a dense and lacy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel and roasted nuts. Body and carbonation are both on the light side. Lightly sweet taste of chocolate, oatmeal, figs and just a little roasted malt. Smoky, earthy chocolate finish with light bittering.

Aug 3, 2008 Bottle. Poured a dark brown almost black with a creamy tan head. Smelled of roasted caramel and coffee. Tasted pretty much the same. Nice mouthfeel. Smooth drinkable beer, not to thick.
