bottle BB9/16/8 by way of pforei. medium brown color with ruby at the edges topped by a light tan head. aromas of chocolate, cream, light coffee, toasted walnuts, a little wood and near metallic maltiness (the metal aspect disappears as it warms). the flavor is near perfect for a porter (at least a british one!)... coffee, cream, chocolate, wood, light skunky hops, mildly bitter roast and a slight ashiness on the finish. it’s not overly sour and leaves a creamy coffee aftertaste. medium to full body with soft carbonation which gives it a creamy texture. the flavor gets a lot better as it nears room temperature but the mouth feel suffers...

does not count  Jul 25, 2008 Incredible. Best beer I have had so far, beat out my old fav Guinness. Pours a beautiful black with a thick creamy head, wonderful aroma and taste. Reminds me a lot like coffee. Not too expensive and a must try.

Jul 22, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours absolutely black, almost no head whatsoever. Spotty lacing, but I’m drinking from a Trappist glass. Aroma and flavor dominated by chocolate and coffee. Very toasty. One of the best porter’s I’ve had (cheaper and better tasting than Sam Smith’s!) Definitely the best Fullers brew I’ve had.

Jul 21, 2008 Appearance of an imperial stout without the thickness. Aroma was roasted nuts, and cocoa. Flavor was excellent, with a strong blend of mocha and tart chocolate. The only thing this beer was missing was a thicker, chewier texture.

does not count Jul 14, 2008 Looks like Black Gold. Rich and complex. Here is a suggestion, try it in a cognac snifter, sounds strange, but I did this once and it actually brought out some subtle flavors..like cinnamon and hazlenut, and accented the chocolate tones. I love this stuff, definitely in my top five
