Bottle @ Bishops Arms, Karlstad. This is what I’ve been imagining a good porter to taste like - quite sweet with hints of chocolate, coffe, roasted malt and some sea salt (which I tend to find in many stout/porters). Well, it’s really good however. Fuller’s is a very good brewery, I must say.

Sep 4, 2008 On tap. Poured black with ruby edges, off white head, fully diminishing. Aromas of chocolate, burnt malt, cinnamon. Flavour is initially sweet, and some hops come through. Finishes quite bitter. Sweeter for a porter but nicely hopped and well blended flavours.

Sep 1, 2008 Nice Creamy Porter. Very Dark Pour. Medium Head. Roasty malts. Dark Coffee with heavy cream taste. Very drinkable porter. I think this would go very well with food that is sweet. Would be a good base in a long cook dish or a braise.

Sep 1, 2008 Deep dark red body, almost black, with an almost lasting off-white head. Flat coffee taste that is quite drinkable, smokey notes and thin cocoa. What I expect from a porter and it delivered.

does not count  Aug 31, 2008 Bottle. Very distinctive aroma. Head is almost noexistent. Starts with a strong hint of coffee. Definitely get the roasty malts at the finish. Would like to try from the tap.
