Known and loved for its distinctive, rounded flavour, London Pride is the award-winning beer for which Fuller’s is most famous. In recent years its popularity has grown to the extent that it is now Britain’s leading premium ale: a welcome fixture in many pubs and off licences around the country, and now winning new friends abroad.
To the beer afficiando looking for the classic English pint, we say this: Whatever you do, take Pride.

NOTE: Most Fuller's beer in the US is served by handpump kegs (at 4.7%), not casks. Ask your server.

Cask (Pullman Bar, Helsinki) Rich copper ale colour, little head. Honey and caramel malt aroma. Honey, bitter and malted grain very well coordinated. Classic English bitter. Finnish is malty.

well, it’s not a bad beer, it can be quite refrehing but overall it’s pretty boring, the flavor is pretty weak, there is some malt, kind of nice fruitiness, some bready notes wich is not too pleaesant, some buttery notes which i don’t like and a dry and bitter finish.

Cask in London at a pub outside Euston station. Copper colored with bubbly khaki head. Aroma is piney hops, dampness. Flavor is full of citric and pine hop flavors, as well as dustiness. Flavor has notes of oranges and lemon peel. Some staleness. Lightly bitter aftertaste. Great beer.

On tap at Bonn Lair - Sacramento. This cask conditioned pale ale was hand-pulled into a Fuller’s glass, with a fluffy off-white head. The flavor is very delicate and creamy with strong yeast characteristics and a nice combination of malt and hops. Lately, I have consumed mostly Belgian and American microbrews, but this one rekindled my interest in British ales.

After a very poor showing last year at NERAX, Fullers returns in force. Cask pint on 5/3/07
Not a strong or overly aromatic nose, but what struck me most about it was the utter balance and delicateness. Hops are heady and floral, giving off light notes of perfume as well. The attenuation, at least from the nose, was perfect. Enough maltiness to give a presence in the aroma, but not to the point of making it too sweet or heavy. Though nor is it taken down to the point where it’s overly grainy/tannic. This was the same thing I experienced with the Discovery. London Pride had a much stronger hoppiness, though it’s almost all aroma/flavor with very little bitterness. Some light grassiness, even, on the finish and tremendously flawless, almost to the point of being overly clean (as with Hop Back’s beers). A touch of nutty yeast is the extent of the house character.
One of the stronger textured beers of the fest, with gentle, but extremely tight carbonation giving it an almost creamy mouthfeel. Tangerine and lemon dominate the hop flavor, while light grains and just a pinch of caramel are added to this. The light caramel, if you’d even call it that, gives a slight chewiness on the finish and the rest is a light crackery dryness from the pale malts. But the main force is the bushy, leafy, lightly bitter hoppiness that seems to leave a touch of oiliness as well. Lovely stuff and it’s so satisfying to finally try a great cask of Fullers beer. Flawless, no alcohol perceived. Bright condition, dark golden with a slight hint of copper and a small, but modestly retained head that provides little/no lacing.

[CASK: The Station Hotel, Altrincham 17/03/07] A pretty good ale that has a nice taste. Worth a try.

Somewhere in St Albans last August. Ridiculously drinkable, fruity reddish bitter with a pungent hop bitterness. Smooth but slightly roasty with an elusive vanilla-like note in the aftertaste. Sneaks up on you with every silky swig.
