Merton Beer Festival Septí 2004. Used to also drink this every Sunday night at the Marsh Harrier, Cowley, Oxford. Amber in colour, white head , nice malty aroma, a truly wonderful very well balanced flavour of malt, hops with just the right levels of sweetness and biterness, a classic English biter.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
On cask. Polished copper colour with fairly thin white head. The distinctive Fullerís Pride aroma, maybe nutty and caramel but not in too much of an old school way. Residual sweetness from the Fullerís yeast but with some balancing bitterness. A far better beer than most of the long established breweries here in the South West.

Brown ruby color. Nutty aroma, malty with a bit of hops. Flavor is also nutty, with some fruity prune-like notes. Very balanced. Medium body. Finishes with a spicy hop finish that lasts for bit. One of the better bitters I had in the UK.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask at tap room at London kings cross station.
Pours a copper hue with a lovely eggshell head and good lacing. Nose is earthy very lite tea notes from the English hops. Great balanced toasted malt base with a very dry cracker malt profile. Finish has lots of earthy herbal hops. Very clean and nice session brew. Full body for the abv. Leaps and bounds better than the US bottled version.
