Well balanced easy drinking Ale. Delicate hop flavour as with the malt is subtle yet persistent. Appearance is amber with copper tones. Fruit notes up front with nutty wood finish. A gem of West London.

Clear copper colour with white head. Very little carbonation. Aromas of malt and floral hops. The taste is very full with sweetish bread-like malts and hints of fruit. There is a great balance with the earthy hops, making for a great, very drinkable pint. An English classic.

Ambrée orangée limpide. Mousse blanche persistant sur les bords. Arôme malté, caramel. Manque de rondeur. En bouche relativement ronde avec une douceur d’entrée caramel et ensuite l’amertume de fin de bouche mais restant arômatique.

On tap @ Harp, London, UK. Pours with a clear red colour, small frothy white head. Aroma is very malty, with notes of bread. Taste is medium sweet, lightly bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation.

A justifiable English Classic. Maltier than most English bitters with caramel and marmalade quite discernible. Also pleasant floral and earthy hops. Palate is smooth and sessionable with good balance of sweet malts and bitter hops. Lightly carbonated like most real ales in this country. Cask at The Victoria, Paddington. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2014 Looks good. Golden orange. Dissapointed with aroma. Felt could have been stronger. Bitterley taste builds as you drink the pint. Lovely aftertaste. Definitely a good beer if out and about and want something safe. Won?t dissapoint. This is one that I first drank years ago. My taste has developed since but if in England and playing safe would still choose.

On tap in London. Pours amber with a short lived, white head and lively carbonation. Aroma of earthy hops, hay with some caramel malt in the background. Body is medium and crisp. Earthy, herbal hops and caramel malt fill the mouth. Long, dry, earthy finish. I used to like this brew.

Cask @ The Burrell Arms, Haywards Heath. Lightly hazy orange golden color, medium sized dense beige head that leaves great lacing. Smell and taste malts, some sort of slight fruity touch, lightly bitter. Hmm not as nice as I had hoped it would be. Average body and carbonation.
