500ml bottle from Waitrose. Pours clear amber with fluffy white head. Leaves loads of lacing. Aroma bitter with biscuity malts. Flavour not overly complex, but a solidly drinkable bitter.

Pours a muddy brownish from the tap. Slightly bitter, but mostly just kind of a strong caramel maltiness. Okay beer.

Aroma is caramel, slight metallic, maybe booze, sweet, decent. Appearance is light copper, not as nice as ESB but still decent, off white head, clear. Taste is caramel, toffee, full-flavored, bitter, earthy hops, sweet malt, butterscotch, slight metallic. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light carbonation, lots of bitter malt in the aftertaste. Overall, I wasnít expecting the full flavor, which was a nice surprise, but I still prefer ESB to this.

Bottle: Yes, iíve had this before...and my prior rating was a rambling mess. A lovely golden amber in the glass. Road soda whilst hitchhiking and riding trains in the U.K. Robust nose of well placed malt. Malt up front and to finish. A true glance a the bag of hops in the brewery provides all this beer needs.
