Looks amazing - deep ruby amber with a firm off-white head. Strong nose of rich tea biscuits, honey and slight raisins. Flavous is also good, with a well-rounded combination of sweet malty fruit developing into a thirst-quenching, lasting bitter palate. A very nice beer - can Fullers do no wrong?

VilleH (31) - Vieremš, FINLAND - APR 23, 2007
(500ml bottle) Rich, caramellish and pretty strong aroma. Nutty and little dry taste with a long and good aftertaste. Pretty full and nice winter ale, gives you a warm feeling.

Gethinbeer (2221) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - APR 21, 2007
Sweet honey aroma with hints of a cheap wine. Copper appearance with a thin off white head. Rich flavour, full of character with a complex taste. Almost Christmas in a bottle but not quite. Smooth finish.

Bottle. Brown colour with a tan head. Lots of toffee & caramel when taking a sniff. Fruity flavour with malt & chocolate. Nice.

Maria (10176) - Thisted, DENMARK - APR 1, 2007
Nice, dark amber and a good head. The aroma is very malty. The flavour has strong notes of roasted malt, caramel, nuts and a slight vinous character. Initially itís sweet and smooth, but then the bitterness falls in as a nice counterweight to the sweetness. Nice.

FatPhil (9723) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 13, 2007
UPDATED: OCT 31, 2007 500ml bottle. Creamy and nutty aroma, a rich ruddy brown ale. Warming full-bodied taste - hoppy body with long lasting nutty aftertones.

Rune (8582) - TromsÝ, NORWAY - FEB 28, 2007
500ml bottle sampled at a rating session in TromsÝ. Clear mahogany body. Almost no head. Smoky smell of roasted malt. The flavour has got dark caramel notes and nutty hints. Flat and dry ending, slightly bitter. And as Finn said, we need something stronger for the Arctic frost (23.02.2007).

Bottle 0,5l. Dark brown coloured. A small white head. Caramellish aroma. Dry flavor of caramel and fruits. A long, dry aftertaste. Quite enjoyable - but not strong enough to be a proper winter warmer (right now itís -10 deg C outside).

Bottle. Clear reddish brown, off-white head. Fruity, earthy, slightly roated and a little sweet malt character, balanced by spicy hops and a pleasant bitter finish.
