Väri punertava ja tummanruskea. Lasi ei ehkä optimaalinen, sillä vaahtoa ei muodostu. Tuoksu miedon rusinainen. Yleinen olemus vie ajatukset saaristolaislimppuun jouluna. Paahteisen hunajainen maku, jossa mukana tuoksussa tullutta rusinaa, viikunaa ja kuivattua luumua. Runsas ja pehmeä, jälkimaku hieman ohut ja etäisesti imelä. Lopullinen vaikutelma täyteläinen, vivahteikas ja tyylikäs. (31.1.2015)

This Old Ale has a bubbly foam, but this will diminish after some time. The scent is fruity with hints of black currant and other dried fruits. A little fresh grass and light caramel available in the aroma. The taste varies over dried berries, spices, cinnamon and caramel. Palate is little watery and the aftertaste is characterized by dry hop bitterness and a hint of pine needles. Quite tasty Old ale.

Deep amber to ruby colored, medium strong creamy beige quite lasting head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, nuts, bit of spices, bit orange and floral. Taste is moderate sweet caramel, biscuit, toffee, some orange notes and spices. Dryish bittery biscuit-doughy finish. Low+ bitterness. Medium bodied, light to medium carbonation. Nice and easy flowing.

Lots of tasty toffee, balanced anise, nuts and spice with some bitterness, this complex beer is certainly soothing and very charismatic. Rich brown old world appearance as well. If the ABV was juiced up to about 10 (or 11) % this would be world beater.

Bottle. Copper body, medium tall tight beige head. Aroma has firm English hops with nutty and creamy notes. Full bodied, really smooth. Taste adds some fruit cake and more nuts. Smooth hops in the finish. Nothing fancy but a very solid ale from Fullers. "Strong" what? In my book strong beer starts from around 7% ABV where sometimes the alcoholic notes start to emerge. This is not only for winter, it’s suitable all year round. I would drink many of these even in the summer.
