50cl bottle from Systembolaget. Best before 2012-10-10. It poured a dark orange colour with a medium big foamy head. Aroma is nuts, malts, butterscotch and some raisins. Flavour is round, but with some bitterness. Nuts and raisins are more noticable than the aroma. Short aftertaste.

Bottle from the LCBO. Another stash-lurker here, with a best before date back in October 2012 - but seems to be in pretty good condition considering its age. Nice caramel-copper colour with a thin off-white head. Nice and warm aroma of butterscotch, cherry, macerated raisins, and a suggestion of port. Medium bodied with a nice carbonation level. Flavour is ever so slightly oxidized, but in a positive way, with hints of sherry and tobacco alongside slightly tart cherry, mellow caramel, and a surprisingly bright hit of citrus-inflected hop bitterness in the finish. Very, very good!

Bottled 50cl. Definitely not the flagship beer from this brewery. Medium bodied and balanced. Pleasant.

bouteille 50cl, BB 17-10-2013.

Bottle 0,5L. Clear, amber red colour with small, off-white head. Aroma of sweet grapes, caramel, cherry, nuts and honey. Medium to full body, light bitter at the start, turns into moderate to heavy bitter aftertaste and finished with nice almond note.

[0.5 bottle, served: beer glass] Appearance: quite dark brown, with minimal foam head. The color really looks like more dubbel. Aroma: even served quite warm, the aroma is really weak, but with some good smell of dark caramel. Taste: bitter caramel, with some bitterness in aftertaste. But nothing special. would prefer more spices and details(spicy?) in a such a beer, that has some relations to winter, but that’s maybe juts me. The taste doesn’t change with each sip as well. In general not a bad beer, but I guess, from those ones which I’ve "tested", this one is the weakest from Fuller’s sortiment.

En god och välbalanserad julöl. Smak och doft av malt, humle, torkad frukt, röda bär, karamell. Lagom söt och med en lätt efterbeska.

(bottle) Clear, dark amber colour with a firm and mid-sized slightly tanned foamy head. Slightly toasted malty aroma with caramel, hints of caramel and a mildly spicy and fruity hoppy touch. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Initially malt-accented toasty taste with caramel and delicately nutty notes, accompanied by a rounded spicy and fruity hoppy blend; quite dry and bitter hoppy finish with a balanced toast-malty touch. Not really Christmassy but nevertheless a rounded British Ale. 01.III.13

bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear golden brown, mid-sized head. Wonderful malt flavours with hints of dark honey and caramel and a really nice and aromatic hop bouquet make this beer very convincing. Anytime again.
