Flavour is sweet and a bit cloying. The aftertaste is slightly skunky. Not my favourite Fuller’s, but not a bad beer. DuffMan (2745), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada

Clear amber colour, poured head, but loses retention and suds lacing. Gentle melon fruitiness, a bit thinnish, slight bitterness and a strange aftertaste. sunevdj (1770), Copenhagen OE, Denmark

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 31, 2005 Bottle: At first a bit cloying and somewhat overly sweet in the aftertaste. However, fresh hoppiness comes through as the glass progresses and it reminds you why honey was added to beer in the first place. Not my favourite from the Fuller’s stable, but worthy of it just the same. yalnikim (779), Wellington, New Zealand

Pale gold. White lacey head that thins and clings to the glass. Distinctive, grainy, english malt aroma that always reminds me, somewhat, of a rich single malt whiskey. The nose definitely hints at sweetness with a good note of honey and a touch of orange. Flavour surprises me with a strong orange undertone right through the malt and only a little in the way of honey. Decent malt evidence in the medium-light weight and soft mouthfeel. Hoppy little kick through the middle and on the palate with strong orange and lime, some floral notes come through later. Very nice summer quencher that NZ mainstream breweries would do well to learn a bit from. bark (255), Linköping, Sweden
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 11, 2005 Bottle. The colour is golden yellow; the white foam sinks down with a fizzing sound.
The smell is spicy (garden cress) with notes of malt and honey.
The carbonation is fresh, more like lager than ale.
The taste is quite weak and sweet, but it is almost too full-bodied, the malt resembles of a cheap standard lager. The aftertaste is milder with a low bitterness and flavours of honey drops, malt and marzipan.
I don’t really get this one. I reviewed it chilled; maybe I should try it really cold?
