COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first beer in the Past Masters series we have chosen to recreate is XX, a strong ale which is perfect for bottle conditioning. Brewed at 7.5% ABV, with the original recipe first used on September 2, 1891, it is dark, rich and full flavoured, with a distinctly warming character. XX is deeply satisfying, and an unforgettable experience for those who love traditional English beer. Fullerís Past Masters XX Strong Ale will be available in 500ml bottles from the Fullerís Brewery Shop and in selected Fullerís pubs. You can also buy Past Masters online.

Bright orange in colour with thick creamy head. Spicy malt aroma, hint of honey. Roasty mouthfeel, warm tingly tongue. I would have drunk this back in the day, very nice session beer.

Fra flaske pŚ DōE festivalen 2011: Deilig aroma av engelske humler med bl.a. gress og kanel. MÝrk gylden farge og deilig smak av humler og litt karamell. Hurra for de som holder tradisjonene i hevd!

trong fuggles, earthy, woody, strong moderate bitterness, extreme balance. Very well put together alcohol. So much like I would want a English Strong ale to be. Superb

Bottle. Nice English hop nose, grassy, cinnamon, nuts. Deep amber color. Nicely hoppy flavor, tangy, caramel. Nice stuff, really hits the spot.

Really liked this - leafy, grassy citrussy hops run wildly over a heavy toffee malt body, but well integrated and cohesive. One of the beers that just feels right with a long ragged citrus finish. Gets a bit dull as it warms, but the impression is already one of deep admiration for a fine product.

Aroma has sweet malt, dark bread, light hoppiness. Mahogany hazy, beige medium long head. Taste is slightly sweet, just bit bitterness. Finish is bit dry. Medium body, soft bit light feel. Quite malty and thus bit one-sided also. Keeping traditions alive is appreciated by me. ok.

500 ml bottle. Sparkling amber colour. Small white head. Mellow malty aromas. Sugary caramel flavours. Soft carbonation level. Earthy hops. Slightly metallic, but nicely balanced. Enjoyable.
