COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - May to August.
Light, smooth, and refreshing, Summer Ale is pale gold in colour, and at 3.9% alcohol by volume, an excellent quaffing ale. It delivers a flavour most lagers can only dream of, thanks to its all-malt brew (containing malted wheat), and 100% Saaz hops, a Czech variety found in the best pilseners. Like Organic Honey Dew, it should always be served chilled.

Cask @ The Blackbird, Earls Court. So, there’s still casks of this floating around in late September? The pour’s a deep gold with a small white head. The nose is sugar cookie, some white grape, donut. The taste is light apricot and white grape, some sweet cereal and honeyed grain. Soft body. Overall, pretty inoffensive. Quite similar to their Honey Dew...

Cask by handpump at State Bar, Glasgow - clear golden ale, thin bubbly white head, cereal, fairly sweet, light, refreshing, pleasing to drink, good temperature

Pretty bland, similar to Wild River. Light on everything with very little aroma or flavor.

Handpull at Barrowboy And Banker. Clear bright amber-gold with pretty much zero head. Extremely grainy aroma and taste (think Labbatt 50 grainy) with a hint of mild apple. Slick, still, oily, raspberry seed bitterness a bit in the finish. Ehhhh.

Cask @ O’Hara’s Freehouse
Aroma has goldings hops with toffee and some wheat. Practically no CO2 in palate. Flavour is rather stale with wheat and goldings-toffee. Yet another golden ale and not very good.

Cask @ O’hara’s Freehouse, Tampere.
Pours hazy pale golden colour with no head. Aroma of light fruits, citrus, grass, light malts and herbal notes. Flavour of light ripe fruits and nothing more. Boring.

Cask @ State Bar. Clear golden colour, medium white head. Nose is quite overpowering cooked vegetables and bit of cookie crumble. Flavour is light malted, bit of citrus and initially massive biscuit. Very chewy. Dry and slight vegetable finish.

Cask @ The Bon Accord. Resin aroma. Rich golden colour with a good head. Biscuit, cereal & biscuit flavour. Smooth but a bit watery. Better than other reviewers suggest. Perhaps that is just because I am a golden ale man.

Very refreshing beer - citrusey with reasonable hop character. Easy drinking and pleasant for the season, but not the most exciting.
