Bottle I shared with all the great people at Stone Sourfest. Pours with a large tan head over a hazy golden body. Aroma of sherry, caramel berries, raisins, honey and biscuit. Taste is very long lasting with caramel, and biscuit malts with sherry, brandy and some oxidation. Smooth with light bubbles. This beer held up very well, way better than expected!

I was one of those lucky ones BMan shared with. Thanks a bunch. Hazy burnt orange glass. Off-white ring. Nose is sharp oak and smooth booze. Taste is sweet to clean malt to vanilla to brown sugar.

I bought this bottle in early 1998 and opened it on 1/10/04. It is a beautiful amber color. The aroma is a hops and caramel. The taste is sweet, with hints of hops, fruit, and alcohol. Worth trying, if you you can still find it.

Orange to dark copper body. Surprising initial beige head slowly diminishes to leave a whiskey looking beer. Complex chocolate and slightly oxidized nose. Strong Madeira, clover, caramel, molasses barleywine-like sweetness is aptly marrying the slightly floral and earthy residue that time have blended into the soft alcohol vapours. Anise hints were born to match that honey aspect that charms the nostrils. The palate didnít quite hold up as well where it feels a bit thinned out by now. The carbonation is very low and the floral Madeira makes images of oxidation spring to the mind. Sticky sweet feels, slightly acid and gently earthy marries otter. Great aging material. My second favourite after the 99. Thanks John!

Hazy nutty brown color, firm creamy off-white head. Toffeish fudge aroma, dark fruits, nuts, light oxidation. Caramelly chocolaty with hazelnuts and raisins, late alcohol punch. Light licorice in the aftertaste. Bottle showed tiny notes of oxidation.

Bottle #84043. Wonderful woody tannic honey nose. Very "old" smell-must and honey. Smells great. Taste-lots and lots of wood. Cherry, sawdust, peaty, bitter, and chewy. Very very nice. Just a fantastic beer.
