COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle Conditioned.
85,000 bottles of Vintage Ale were produced with an organic theme, using Champion Optic Malt and Organic Target Hops. A fresh hop aroma with notes of honey and toffee, leads to a slightly sweeter taste and burnt, bitter aftertaste.

500ml. No 55851. Drank from a goblet ; just had a vintage 99 ..Woah what a joy to be blessed with a larger ,more rocky beige foam head than i was anticipating . This beer head maybe symbolic of this beer still having some heart and soul . this is pretty awesome for a jaded old bottle . It drinks as rich as a millionaire . there are slices of robust booze covered malt that showcase age , complexity and the hands of time ...cherry , raisin, bread, mellow roast, cake , this is a beautiful vintage beer.

1pt 2.6 fl oz bottle. Bottle no. 55733. Pours a clear deep coppery golden amber colour with a creamy off-white foam head leaving lots of lacing. Nose is nutty, malts and toffee, raisins, sherry. Flavour of malt, caramel, sweet toffee, brown sugar, honey, milk chocolate, light roasted, earthy and nutty. Smooth mouthfeel, medium to full bodied, sofy carbonation, lingering sweetish warm boozy earthy light bitter finish. Very drinkable, this bottle has aged well!

Murky tea brown, thick looking body but little else. Varnish, sock sweat and Unwashed tea cups, damp cardboard. Nice mulched leaves, tinny malt and cheap wine. Scraped banana and chockeberry in there but nothing outright flavoursome. Old sweaty sock is mostly what I got throughout.

This was an unbelievable treat courtesy of Geoff Griggs, whom I owe a debt of thanks. Tasted at 14 years old and this beer has kept incredibly well in that time. It had perfect clarity and colour, a beautiful light mahogany with essentially nil head. The initial impression of the aroma was a slightly fungal one, maybe botrytis without being the least off-putting. There was muscatele grapes, some walnut woodiness, marzipan, mildew and Amontillado sherry. A fortified wine like flavour that encompassed all the aromas and a wet grain characteristic. Utterly remarkable as much for the remarkable company as a beer I shall always remember.

550 ml bottle @ the Grand Vintage Tasting, Tampere. Thanks rosenbergh. Pours a copper amber colour with a small head. Aroma is rather sweet and malty with some orange marmalade, biscuit and some cellar. Flavour of biscuit, some red berries, toffee, orange marmalade, some earthiness, even some hops and cellar. Sweet finish. Medium bodied and surprisingly high carbonation for a beer thatís 14 years old. Vintage 1999 was so much better.

55 cl bottle. @ The Grand Vintage tasting.
Bottle No. 70091.
Pours slightly hazy mahogany color with a small head. A lot more sweet ripe fruits here, some cellar notes too. Some hop notes on the taste, would you believe it or not, plums, bread, dry malts and caramel. Slick palate, oily even. Not as smooth as 1999, good anyway.

550 ml bottle. Bottle #70091. (Fullerís) London, the UK. The Grand Vintage Tasting.
A dark amber colour with a small frothy tan head. A musty wine cellar aroma with sweet dark fruits and some toffee sweetness in the aroma. The flavour is dark fruits, sugary sweetness, mild hoppy notes (not that fresh any more), mild bitterness and dry maltiness. Quite nice. Quite a lot different beer than the 1999 vintage.
