COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle Conditioned.
85,000 bottles of Vintage Ale were produced with an organic theme, using Champion Optic Malt and Organic Target Hops. A fresh hop aroma with notes of honey and toffee, leads to a slightly sweeter taste and burnt, bitter aftertaste.

Bottle, kindly shared by KnutAlbert. Stable white head. Bright and shiny, reddish amber body. Aroma is beyond interesting; mouldy cellar, dusty old books and unwashed carpets. Also a scent of caramel and some cherry tones. Feels creamy in the mouth, with a soft and gentle carbonation. Taste is mild caramelly, has some leafy and minty tones, and an undelying vinous fruitiness. A pleasant alcohol warmth througout. Obviously a high level of oxidation in this one, yet a highly drinkable and exciting beer.

Bottle 2000 vintage: Huge, beautiful aroma, poached/stewed fruit, caramel, raisins, toffee. Fantastic golden amber color with a beautiful head. Still very carbonated after 10 years! Taste is incredible. Very mellow and sweet. Lovely malty, caramel flavor and very reminiscent of poached fruit. This has to be the perfect desert beer. Alcohol is undetectable. Amazingly rich and creamy. Only fault I could give is that it is a bit too mellow and sweet but this makes it all the more perfect for desert. Beautiful mellow complexity which really leaves an impression. Very drinkable. This would be sublime with poached peaches! After 10 years in the bottle this is fantastic. I bought this one already aged and obviously it was well-cellered.

Flossmoor Station RB tasting 2010. Similar to the 1999, tried side by side. The oxidation is a little bit harsher, a little bit more paper, hasnít aged nearly as smooth as the 1999, but otherwise quite delicious.

Bottle from drewbeerme. Pours a darker amber, hazy with an offwhite clinging head. Pours a darker hue, decent haze and a nice tannish head that laces ok. Aromas are caramel, toffee, a bit sweeter edged with some nice malt notes, a decent dry bitter hopping that balances well, a touch toasted on the back end, full on the palate. Faint mint and some dark fruit notes, this beer is very complex. Cheers.

Bottle shared along with the 1999 by drewbeerme at Chicago RB gathering. Pour is lightly hazy copper with a small white head. This one was fruity and nutty with a light mint/ spearmint flavor that I could not get enough of. Very buttery and smooth as well, just very good.

Bottle shared by drewbeerme, i believe, at the chicagoland ratebeer tasting. Thanks andrew- trying this back to back with the 99 vintage was quite a treat. Pours a clear amber with a small offwhite head. Notes of caramel, fruit, a hint of mint, brown sugar. Flavor is a sherry, plum combo. Very smooth and easy drinkin. Both the 99 and 2000 were awesome. Happy to try these! Thanks Andrew!

Medium offwhite head. Hazy reddish brown body. Old blanket and watery caramel and old books aroma. Dry-sweetish caramelly old books and linoleum taste with fruity grassy notes. Fullish body. Mild, faintly hot mouthfeel. Dryish hot earthy caramel aftertaste with linoleum notes. Also orange zest and mint.. Excellent and very interesting. (0.5l bottle shared by KnutAlbert.)

Ruby beer, lovely carbonation. Old mouldy carpet, stale cheese, leather bound books, various alcohols. Sherry, caramel, mint, dry finish. Over the top? sure, but try it!

31st July 2008. Very sweet beer. Pronounced red fruity start, raspberries plus subtler strawberry and cherry. This is followed by a sweet creamy malt with a whisper of milk chocolate. The abv is well disguised in this easy drinking complex beer.

Pours reddish orange, thin dissipating head.
Aroma is potent here, full of musty orange peel, a hint of herb, woodiness, spice. Reminded of the smell of an old house.
Brown sugar flavour initially, plum fruit, warming yet bitter spiciness. Mustyness from the aroma translates to the flavour, ending with a slight caramel sweetness.
Finish is pruney, sweet with mild bitterness and lasts a while.
This aged very well, a well rounded, unique tasting ale.
