COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle Conditioned.
85,000 bottles of Vintage Ale were produced with an organic theme, using Champion Optic Malt and Organic Target Hops. A fresh hop aroma with notes of honey and toffee, leads to a slightly sweeter taste and burnt, bitter aftertaste.

500ml shared by Fred. Thanks, Fred! Been a while since Iíve had a Fullers Vintage, and one whiff of the nose - a bit of sweet sherry, some toffee, and a lingering fruitiness - reminds of how well they pull off these complex, warming brews. Lovely amber color, deep fireplace vibe. Mouthfeel still has a bit of carbonation, surprising given its decade of existence. Slight oxidation in the taste, but overall very complex with a mellowed depth that is easy to admire and enjoy.

Thanks Bobís friend Fred for sharing. Pours a copper amber with a one finger tan head. Nose is earthy and papery, oxidation/age, sweet with some caramel, mild alcohol. Flavor is oxidized and papery, sweet, some sherry, caramel malt, English feel with some leafy hop character. Palate lacked carbonation.

No 39171 - 1 pt 2.6 fl oz bottle shared by beastiefan2k. Pour is a hazed ruby orange with an off white head that falls quick. Aroma is cardboard, along with a somewhat sharp earthiness - certainly oxidized. Taste is initially caramel malt sweetness, sherry, Madeira notes - turning quick to cardboard, then thinning and drying out with a dusty dirt earthy finish. Palate is medium, surprisingly active carbonation along with the aforementioned dried dusty finish. There was a nice beer here at one point I am sure, but this bottle is over the hill. Enjoyed trying it, thanks for sharing Eugene - I loved the story of how you got this one!

1pt, 2.6 fl. oz. bottle, #39171, with thanks to Beastiefan2k. Pours a clear amber color with a minimal off-white head, no lacing. Aroma is port/brandy like, with some alcohol, definite notes of oxidation, overripe, if not alcohol soaked dark fruits, some caramel and some dustiness also from the age. Flavor is also oxidized, with some light cardboard, alcohol soaked dark fruits, caramel and more cobweb notes. Interesting, but unfortunately a bit over the hill at this point. Thanks for sharing Eugene!

Bottle, thanks SÝren.
Had this after trying the 1997 and 1999. First one still good, but going downhill, second still wonderful.
Pours hazy orange with a nice, staying, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is light flowery, some honey notes, caramel, softly vinious and even a hint of hops. Highish carbonation, small bubbles so nothing spritzy. Lovely velvety feel with some dryness. Flavour is sweet, malty, liqourice and quite dry and hoppy. Caramel, toffee and lightly warming in my cheeks. Nice.

Bottle, kindly shared by KnutAlbert. Stable white head. Bright and shiny, reddish amber body. Aroma is beyond interesting; mouldy cellar, dusty old books and unwashed carpets. Also a scent of caramel and some cherry tones. Feels creamy in the mouth, with a soft and gentle carbonation. Taste is mild caramelly, has some leafy and minty tones, and an undelying vinous fruitiness. A pleasant alcohol warmth througout. Obviously a high level of oxidation in this one, yet a highly drinkable and exciting beer.

Bottle 2000 vintage: Huge, beautiful aroma, poached/stewed fruit, caramel, raisins, toffee. Fantastic golden amber color with a beautiful head. Still very carbonated after 10 years! Taste is incredible. Very mellow and sweet. Lovely malty, caramel flavor and very reminiscent of poached fruit. This has to be the perfect desert beer. Alcohol is undetectable. Amazingly rich and creamy. Only fault I could give is that it is a bit too mellow and sweet but this makes it all the more perfect for desert. Beautiful mellow complexity which really leaves an impression. Very drinkable. This would be sublime with poached peaches! After 10 years in the bottle this is fantastic. I bought this one already aged and obviously it was well-cellered.

Flossmoor Station RB tasting 2010. Similar to the 1999, tried side by side. The oxidation is a little bit harsher, a little bit more paper, hasnít aged nearly as smooth as the 1999, but otherwise quite delicious.

Bottle from drewbeerme. Pours a darker amber, hazy with an offwhite clinging head. Pours a darker hue, decent haze and a nice tannish head that laces ok. Aromas are caramel, toffee, a bit sweeter edged with some nice malt notes, a decent dry bitter hopping that balances well, a touch toasted on the back end, full on the palate. Faint mint and some dark fruit notes, this beer is very complex. Cheers.

Bottle shared along with the 1999 by drewbeerme at Chicago RB gathering. Pour is lightly hazy copper with a small white head. This one was fruity and nutty with a light mint/ spearmint flavor that I could not get enough of. Very buttery and smooth as well, just very good.
