Bottled: Clear amber coloured. Light brown head. Fruit, light almond and light chocolate in the aroma. Flavour of alcohol, fruit and some berries. Is quite smooth. Ends on an alcholnote. Should have waited 1 more year with this.

sampled 04/2005, thanks to fiulijn - clear pale red-amber colour, the foam quickly disappears, very malty aroma, nuts and bread, cherry, full-bodied, sweet and oily, very bitter, dry and long malty finish - looks quite raw and with a huge potential

Bottle: Hazy, chestnut-brown coloured, lots of floaties visible; lacy, but quickly collapsing beige head; sweet raisins, marzipan and leather in the nose, robust hops included; very solid bitter-sweet flavour, full bodied, oily MF; leather and sweet caramel and portwine in the complex sweet and hoppy finish. Extremely well balanced, well rounded moreish stuff........

Bottle at Chrisoís Fullers-Gales Tasting (thanks to Chris). It pours clear amber, with a thin white head. The nose is full of gingerbread, toasted malts, toasted sesame seed and golden syrup. The taste is leather, wood, spice, caramel and sticky over-ripe fruit sweetness, with a dry, boozy finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. A decent vintage.

(bottle, 55cl) Hazy, chestnut-brown coloured hue with lots of floaties and a short diminishing beige foamy head. Sweet toast-malty, slightly vinous fruity aroma with notes of caramel, liquorce, tobacco, sweat and a bit brandy-like alcohol. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a very soft carbonation and a slightly viscid mouthfeel. Creamy toasty malty, date- and fig-fruity taste with caramel, liquorice, resin and a tinge of marzipan; almost endlessly lasting, slightly vinous, subtle fruity and toasty finish. Highly elaborated stuff. 24.III.10

Bottle conditioned - White Horse - Parsons Green London SW6. A mid brown beer with a nice white head. The aroma is thick with juicy hops and creamy alcohol. The taste also has lots of warming alcohol , fruits, nail varnish, perfume and vanilla. The texture is like butterscotch. After a while it does become íheadyí but it is more than acceptable.

Darkish slightly cloudy amber colour with a tiny tan head. Sweet chocolate, fudge, dark fruits, vanilla and mild alcohol in the aroma. The flavour is dry liquorice, sweetness, bready malt, mild hops and toffee sweetness. Smooth. Rich.
