COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned version of Golden Pride.
Limited to 50,000 Bottles. As the year of the Golden Jubilee the golden theme was applied to this special commemorative Vintage Ale. Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt were used to produce this copper coloured ale with a fruity, orange peel aroma and a spicy, satisfying taste.

January 2003- bumped it up a point after retasting. Aroma has lost some of its sweetness, becoming more like a Highland malt than a drambuie. A hint of cork is now apparent in the mouth and the finish has a little more depth with some spiciness counteracting the dry bitterness. 6 more bottles (and years) to go. July 2002-Bottle label has a subtitle of Special Golden Jubilee Edition, so I am unsure of the availability of this particular vintage, Initial head is good but quickly dissipates, and the condition is relatively low. First aroma is very reminiscent of Drambuie, with a spicy floral honey note but raisins and roast malt soon mask this. Main flavour is of fruity malt with a faint hint of esters and pear drops. Finish is dry and short with a hint of alcohol.

Nice clear orange brown color with a dense head and nice lacing. Taste is full bodied with a nice sweetness of malts and flavors of vanilla, tea and clove. This stuff is worth the fancy packaging it deserves.

Sample during tasting @ Ölrepubliken. Pours hazy amber with no head worth mentioning. Smell is sweet and malty with caramel, alcohol, toffee, rubber, lemon zest, overripe plums, raisins, sweet dark bread, cherries in liqueur, moist soil and hints of leather and cardboard. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty with caramel, toffee, alcohol, leather, orange zest, moist wood, grass, vanilla fudge and leather. Mouthfeel is round, oily bitter, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and tiny sour with caramel, lemon fudge, wood, leather and grass. Very nice but would probably have been even better about 2 years ago...

RateBeer Summer (Toronto) ’02: Clear orange color, molasses nose. The chewy-syrupy sweet-ending suggests to me that it will age well. I guess I’ll find out in a few years.

Pint Bottle from Walt via trade - Thanks! - Pours dark amber in color with a fairly short creamy tan head. Lots of floaters in this one... Aromas of big yeast, some raisin, lots of caramel, slight toffee. Flavor of yeast, raisin, caramel, toffee, and some earthy notes. Smooth as silk on the palate with medium body and low carbonation.. Not the best of the vintages for this brew in my opinon..
