4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours a clear, deep amber, with a thin head. Big, fruity nose, developed but still lots of primary aromas, malt, hops, marzipan, chocolate, tobacco, nuts, leather. Full bodied, dry. Complex, mature, very well balanced taste. Malt, chocolate, nuts, madeira wine, hops, marzipan, and warming alcohol. At this stage, excellent balance between young malt/fruit, and maturation. 4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: FEB 11, 2013 10 years old. Hazy dark red amber with a average, frothy, lacy, lasting, beige head. Smells of figs, plums, raisins, cherries and sweet malt, caramel, that after years has smoothed out to leather, wood and dark bread. Full oily smooth and smooth. Sweet taste of trail mix: Nuts, dried fruit, raisins with caramel, malt, and lightly toasted malt. Some alcohol lingers but its been smoothed out over time. Wood and leather with that vintage aged dry bitter finish. Liquid figs. So smooth to sip, I enjoyed throughout the night. Biscuit goodness.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Big and SUPER clear red ale with a perfect, creamy white head. The aroma is unbelievably rich with a huge similarity to a Belgian bun. That is really amazing tasty. Creamy and floury with a beautiful browned pastry flavour and an Earl Grey soaked raisin. Some cheap powdery chocolate and lovely vinilla there too. I think that is fricking tasty. This is a very special beer.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
The jewel of a vertical tasting that included, 2010,09,08,07,06,05,02. Thanks Gerry. Poured a bright copper with a lasting off-white head and very good lacing. Aroma is dominated by caramelized malts, honey, English toffee, vanilla and tart apple. Taste has a wonderfully balanced hop/malt profile, subtle sweetness, sherry notes, some woodiness. Finish is beautifully lingering and satisfying. Without doubt the jewel of the vertical.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at the White Horse, Parsons Green, London (as part of their Old Ale festival), with Joeh, Kook and Maeib. Cloudy, bright beer. No head, but a delicious aroma. Sweet, with alcohol warmth throughout, but never in a domineering way. Pin pricks of dryness and vegetable; sugar and cake mixture too. Deliciously blended and excellent.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at Ölrepubliken in Göteborg. Pours a hazy amber colored beer with almost no head. Intensive aroma of cognac, tobacco, sultana, honey and eucalyptus. The palate is silke smooth with a taste of honey, eucalyptus, marzipan, malt, nougat, dried apricots and vanilla. Fullers vintage is a complex and beautiful beer that shows a really interesting development.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep dark amber/brown colour, hazy liquid with very nice tones to the colour. Pours a creamy steady tanned head. Aromascape is pretty similar to the 2008 I drank not too long ago; Oak, orange, mustiness, malt, herbs, wood, barley wine styled notes, smoke.. very complex and pleasing. The taste is incredibly well crafted with a fruity balanced bitter quickly washed off by deep, dark, creamy sweetness. The palate is amazing with a full, thick body with creamy but compact texture. Carbonation is so spot on you do not even think about it. The finish and the aftertaste is what crowns this, bringing out chocolate, coffee, full deep creamy flavours I was not expecting. Overall, a very complex beast with a dark sweet side, escorted by deep wooden murky flavours.

550ml. Bottle conditioned. Golden Jubilee Edition. It seemed the right day to drink it on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend, with the Thames Pageant today! Pours amber coloured with a small off white head on top. Aroma of dark fruit, sherry and malt. Tastes of caramel, port, toffee, dried fruits and slightly hoppy. Very nice indeed.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Nice clear orange brown color with a dense head and nice lacing. Taste is full bodied with a nice sweetness of malts and flavors of vanilla, tea and clove. This stuff is worth the fancy packaging it deserves.

I received this bottle from my Santa Mads, many thanks! The brew poured a rich coppery hue with a lasting off-white head and very good lacing. The aroma starts with caramelized malts, honey, english toffee, vanilla, overripened apple, non aromatic pipe tobacco and a hint of oak. The taste starts with a heavy dose of bittersweet character with both hops and malts in wonderful balance. A vinous almost sherry combined with bourbon overtone hits in midsection. A beautiful oaky and smoky bitterness finished off the experiance. The feel is lush but not as heavy as the 1999 or the 2001. It is peaking it seems and is becoming the equal to the more celebrated vintages of past. Yes, I love Fullers Vintage Ales I case you have not figured it out. This rates right up there with the best. Sampled along a 1999, 2000 (which I am about to rate) and 2004. I want, no make that NEED another bottle. Please!
