Beautiful amber color, strangely hazy; the head is quite thin, but creamy and persistent. The aroma is malty but also alcoholic, nutty, with light bitter almonds. Good body strength, the mouthfeel starts getting a bit oily; the malt flavor turned into cookie dough and marzipan; still strong bitterness, but also the alcohol can be clearly perceived. Tired beer, not worth ageing more.

Beautiful copper color, reducing head. Very malty aroma, very light Bourbon vanilla. Good body structure, a bit oily, quite thick; really malty; nuts (wallnuts), a lot of caramel. Incredibly harmonious. Very long final, malty and honeyish; knocks you out!
The carbonation and the young age makes of it, still, a partially aggressive brew (but excellent).

Dutch Ratebeer Gathering. Sampled in 2007 (5 years old). Orange coloured, off-white head, chunks of yeast. Aged aroma, yeast, liquor, pretty strong. Vanilla notes with toffee and caramel, very nice malty flavour. Once and awhile some lactic notes shine through. Towards the end some sticky sweetness, liquorice and hops. Oily texture. Good, although i expected the age to shine through a bit more than it actually did. Thanks jbrus for sharing.

From my backlog. Thanks to Jason for this. Tasted side-by-side with a 2004 vintage. Wonderfully complex with its golden promise base malt and delicate caramelization. Perfectly aged and very nuanced with a slight oxidative property to it, but that wasnít overpowering at this point. Bits of some plums, mild herbal character all swimming beneath the upfront caramel flavour added to its complexity. Aged better than the 2004.

Bottle @ jbrusí. Aroma is old dusty with tea, apricots, sugar and toffee malts. Hazy, orange coloured with an off-white head. Taste is sweet with some lingering smooth hopbitterness in the finish. It has a bit sticky sweetness and milky chocolate. Quite a nice Vintage ale.

Bottle. [Courtesy of Ungstrup, thanks buddy] Large creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Cloudy amber colour. Aroma of overripe fruit, toasted malt, lovely smooth grainy feel. Over the palate came mild bread, light vinous. A bit more complex in the aroma compared to the 2004. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and light alcoholic and thick texture. Moderated sweet and mild bitter flavour. Complex and fruity lingering finishes what was quit smooth and malty at the very end. Excellent.
