Commercial Description:
95,000 bottles were produced for 2004's Vintage, which once again employed a traditional approach, this time brewed with Goldings hops and Maris Otter malt. Distinctive cherry notes are evident, before a warming finish that mellows with age. Also limited availability in the Cask, mainly in the London area.

Thanks to Dedollewaitor. 50 cl. bottle. Deep orange colour with a creamy little head. Aroma and taste: wood, dark fruits, matured, sweet, caramel and nearly vinious. Low carbonation. Mouthfeel was sticky and smooth. Good experience!

From my backlog. Tasted side-by-side with a 2002 version. This was the weaker of the two by a large margin. Much less malt intensive in flavour, but did still have a nice noble hop aroma that was far more intense than the 2002. This showed itself as being a bit off-balanced and out of line. Some residual sweetness present with bits of toffee characteristic of the style. A bit of phenolic character going on and a bit off overall. Really an off-year for this offering.

55cl bottle. Trade with Bierkoning. Thanks. Having tasted 05,06,07 the expectations were high with this one .. Poured hazy deep amber/orange with a off white creamy head. Matured & sweet malty aroma - caramel, plum & quite vinous. Low carbonation. Very round, mild, soft, sweet & balanced mothhfeel & taste. Lots of dark fruits, caramel & a vinous/port feel. Oily & sticky palate. Pleasant warmth from alcohol. Ends slightly dry. Just a damm great vintage ale!!!

Botella #44 514. Pours a nice cloudy amber colour. Short beige creamish head. Sweet caramellic and malty aroma with ripe fruits. Good mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with well toasted malt, ripe fruits, a little touch of vanilla, alcohol and a nice mild bitterness.

Bottle. [Courtesy of Ungstrup, thanks buddy] Average creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Cloudy amber colour. Aroma of fruit, toasted malt, grain, mild flower. Over the palate came roasted malt, overripe fruit, raisins, mild bitter hops. Full bodied with an average carbonation and light alcoholic texture. Moderated sweet flavour with mild bitterness. Lingering and warming alcoholic fruity finish.
