4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 IlanMan (1015) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 14, 2010
Bottle. Pour was deep copper with an aroma of vanilla, sweet malt, brown sugar, some prune, and a touch of oak. Once I was able to part my nose from the glass, I was able to taste much of the same aromas such as the vanilla, oak, and sweet malt. The balance in this brew was amazing and the age on it was real nice and distinctive. This was a real treat, and I’d suggest it to anyone looking for a superb, complex beer.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 drpimento (1750) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 11, 2010
Bottle # 78199. Helluva beer. Had it stored just on a shelf in my kitchen & only chilled it a couple of days ago. Poured with a thick, foamy, frothy, fine bubble, light tan head and good lace. Color is a cloudy, amber brown. Aroma is very malty, caramel, toffee, fruit. Flavor is like aroma and the alcohol really jumps out. Body is soft, full, creamy, smooth and round including the great carbonation. Finish is like flavor including alcohol. Reminds me of some sherries. Sipping beer. Be fun to try different vintages side by side. Excellent brew. Got this from good friend Ron Kittleson, formerly of La Crosse & now in Seattle. Thanks much, man.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 imdownthepub (7491) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 6, 2010
Bottle conditioned, No. 04824, 500ml from Sainsburys in Banbury. Brown to toffee colour with cream head. Rich fruity flavours with a port like smooth body, some dark caramel notes in a homogenous but heady mix. Sliky rich finish, very decent.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 pivnizub (7234) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - APR 26, 2010
Bottle #21825: Hazy, foxy-brown, lacy off-white head; solid sweet fruity aroma (dried fruits) with a robust "english" hoppy backbone and a tinge of marzipan; solid, very solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied; increasing hoppiness in the fruity (some liquorice, too and a tinge of alcohol) and toasty finish. Lovely thirst quencher......
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MoritzF (7368) - Bochum, GERMANY - MAR 31, 2010
(bottle, # 21825) Hazy, chestnut-brown colour with a beige and dense medium-sized foamy head. Sweet roast-malty aroma with notes of caramel, cacao, dried figs, liquorice and a tinge of resiny and slightly woody hops. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a very smoth carbonation. Toasty and chocolatey malty taste with notes of dried fruits, caramel, liquorice and lighter hoppy spices; moderately sweet and toasty malty finish with subtle fruity and hoppy notes. The finish seems to be a bit shorter than that of the 2006 edition I had before. 24.III.10

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 manuchampions (1163) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 19, 2010
An LCBO seasonal. The beer dispenses from the 500ml brown bottle a translucent deep amber to copper color with the head average in size, the texture semi-creamy and the color light tan with residual lacing. Nose is deep malt, sweet, hints of caramel, and oh yes “Alcohol” and the start delectable in its sweetness and the grain profile adequate, the top is middling in its feel. Finish scrumptious in its hop presence, moderately carbonated and a very dry long lasting aftertaste.
