Dec 18, 2007 Bottled - sampled December 2007. A deep red beer with a medium tan head. The aroma is sweet and vinous with notes of plums, alcohol, raisins, berries, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet malty with vinous notes of prunes, alcohol, rhum, caramel, and spices. Nice one.

Jul 7, 2007 (Bottle 50 cl) Bottle #34629. Pours a hazy, nutty brown with a small, off-white head leaving some lacework. Aroma of prunes and overripe fruit. Quite full-bodied with lots of dried fruit accents - prunes in particular. The alcohol is extremely prominent in the finish also suffering from a somewhat brutal bitterness making this version less round and subtle than previous vintages. 020707

May 2, 2008 55 cL bottle, 44514. Pours slight hazy orange with a lacing white head. Wineous malt aroma with light overripe fruit notes. Flavour is overripe fruity with a light oxidised note. Followed by a smooth malt flavour with a subdued caramel malt note. Ends with a light bitterness.

Oct 26, 2004 Bottle. Light brown colour, no head. Looks very flat. Semi-sweet, peppery. Could use more flavour. Not good enough for a beer with this high ABV.

Dec 29, 2007 Bottled. Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is raisins, caramel and toffee. Flavour is caramel malts, some alcohol, raisins and some spicyness. Not much vintage notes in this one yet, but will probably become such within a few years.

sticky sweet creamy body,
rich fruity flavor, lots of dark caramel, just enough sweetness to bring out the fruits but balanced by earthy hops keep it restrained,

Mar 13, 2005 Shiny copper colour. Aroma is heavy caramel, toasty viennaish malts, a little mineral. The palate is richly caramelly, with lots of brown sugar...rich, syrupy. It has its moments I suppose but isn’t really to my taste.
