COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
95,000 bottles were produced for 2004’s Vintage, which once again employed a traditional approach, this time brewed with Goldings hops and Maris Otter malt. Distinctive cherry notes are evident, before a warming finish that mellows with age. Also limited availability in the Cask, mainly in the London area.

(Bottle 50 cl) Bottle #34629. Pours a hazy, nutty brown with a small, off-white head leaving some lacework. Aroma of prunes and overripe fruit. Quite full-bodied with lots of dried fruit accents - prunes in particular. The alcohol is extremely prominent in the finish also suffering from a somewhat brutal bitterness making this version less round and subtle than previous vintages. 020707

55cl bottle. Trade with Bierkoning. Thanks. Having tasted 05,06,07 the expectations were high with this one .. Poured hazy deep amber/orange with a off white creamy head. Matured & sweet malty aroma - caramel, plum & quite vinous. Low carbonation. Very round, mild, soft, sweet & balanced mothhfeel & taste. Lots of dark fruits, caramel & a vinous/port feel. Oily & sticky palate. Pleasant warmth from alcohol. Ends slightly dry. Just a damm great vintage ale!!!

Aged 2 years
Dark amber color, with a spectacular, generous, creamy head. The aroma is malty, not too strong, with caramel, light spices, hazelnuts, showing some complexity. Malty taste, with loads of caramel; the mouthfeel is drier than usual, but becoming rounder when the beer is really warmer. The final is long, bitter with a lot of caramel. Less impressive than other vintages.

Bottle. Light brown colour, no head. Looks very flat. Semi-sweet, peppery. Could use more flavour. Not good enough for a beer with this high ABV.
