Commercial Description:
95,000 bottles were produced for 2004's Vintage, which once again employed a traditional approach, this time brewed with Goldings hops and Maris Otter malt. Distinctive cherry notes are evident, before a warming finish that mellows with age. Also limited availability in the Cask, mainly in the London area.

Beautiful clear amber colour with a medium long lasting beige head. Lovely sweet caramel and dark fruit aroma. Light spice there too and a touch of yeast. Sweet start, a little cloying though. Fruity yet dry in the finish. Almost a touch of roast there! Medium-full smooth body. I quite liked this, moreso than the 2002 bottles I’ve had. Be interesting to taste a bottle in a year or two.

16.9 oz. bottle, #85864. Pours a cloudy amber with a moderate off-white head that settles into a thin creamy head that lasted through most of the glass and left a thick sheet of lace with each sip. The aroma is extremely light with just a bit of malt and some alcohol vapors detected. Flavor is much more pronounced than the aroma. Malt, molasses, brown sugar, and just a hint of barbecue sauce all up front. The sweetness of the molasses and brown sugar quickly dries out and this beer finishes with a strong alcohol flavor, almost like a lliqueur. Some decent hops bitterness accompanies the alcohol at the end. Medium-full bodied.

brownish copper pour w/ a tall off white head some lace. Well blended aroma the ottor, some carmel, alcohols, touch of bread & yeast, an odd earthy hop. Full rich palate. Some definate oxidation and infection present in the flavor. On top of what otherwise might have been a good beer.

Bottle number 81156. Reddish brown color with a very thin head. Malt and yeast aroma that has a scent of the alcohol in it. Grain and hops easy to find in the taste. First sip is harch, but it gets smoother as you go. With age this stuff could get VERY good.

Bottle thanks to BeerandBlues2. Dark brown/reddish pour with a nice head. Lots of dark fruit and caramel on the aroma. More of the same maltiness in the flavor with a touch of dust on the finish. Pretty darn yummy.

Hazy darker amber, moderate head with good lacing and retention. Aroma is aged floral hops with caramel and lesser toffee backing. Medium bodied, fairly sweet finish with some heat. Good flavors, nothing amazing. However, I didn’t like that this was still a little hot after 3 years.
