COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
95,000 bottles were produced for 2004ís Vintage, which once again employed a traditional approach, this time brewed with Goldings hops and Maris Otter malt. Distinctive cherry notes are evident, before a warming finish that mellows with age. Also limited availability in the Cask, mainly in the London area.

(Bottle, No. 67616) Pours an amber body with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma of lemon, orange, caramel, and bread. Malty base flavor with some toffee and raisins. Of coarse, this is a young bottle that could use some aging.

Bottle # 2177. Slightly hazy amber with a firm and lasting off-white head. Aroma has rich malt and marmalade with aged notes of sherry, port and prunes. Dry and malty with crisp biscuit flavour, balanced by quite some bitterness and a vineous note. I was afraid if I had stored it well enough, but that was certainly not an issue.

Bottle shared by Joes @ weekly tasting. Vertical 04-09-10-11-12-13. Clear dark orange color, virtually no head. Aroma is quite sweet. Taste is also pretty sweet, pretty alcoholic, a bit liquor, possibly a hint of sherry. Might be too old. Interesting though.

bierkoning (11943) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - DEC 23, 2004
Dark amber color, small but lasting head. Fairly complex aroma: hezalnuts, hops. Full bodied, buttery and oily. Warming alcohol. A firm hopbitter flavor, walnuts. Just a touch of wood. I canít taste any fruit. There is some sharpness that will probably ease down over the years. Oaky bitter afteratste. Good quality beer that needs some cellaring.

Alcohol, yeast, heavy bitterness, dry, heavy acidity, moderate sweetness, caramel and maple malt, almost a cherry cough syrup. Full bodied, dry and spicy palate.

Scopey (11555) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 13, 2012
Bottle at Chrisoís Fullers-Gales Tasting (thanks to Chris). It pours deep amber, with a thin off-white head. The nose is gingerbread, spice, nut and sticky dried fruit - raisin, currants, cherry and the like. The taste is sweet tinned fruit (pear, melon, nectarine), wood, sherry, spice and alcohol warmth in the finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and syrupy mouth-feel. Good balance, but can get quite cloying after a while.
