An excellent bear with wonderfull aroma and a perfect finish, good with wild boar or chips. The package is very elegant. We like very much the alcohol percentage: perfectly situated between the 7 and 9.

Bottle #1742. Orange/amber coilor, nice offwhite head. Fruity, malty aroma, some figs, some whisky notes. Malty flavor, figs, fruits, some hoppy bitterness..Had this after the 2004 bottle and I liked the older one better.

Woody, butterscotch. Has a grainy hoppy finish. The alcohol is a little evident in the front. A nice beer, but less than what I expected.

500ml brown bottle. Deep orange in colour, nice head, clingy and sticky off white. Some hops in the nose, also brown sugar and a bit of an alcoholic note. Flavour begins with sweet malt, pear and apple notes, then the hops hit. Nice finish with alcohol and some hop bitterness and woody/earthy notes. Meduim body, carbonation is very soft. Bottle #30414

Bottle 10601. A pretty beer to look at - a glowing red amber body under a foamy tan head. Light plum/oak aroma. Overall the flavor is dry and woody with dark red fruit (plum/ripe strawberry) and those fuggles balancing things out. A dry bready yeast lingers in the finish. Decenty complexity of flavor but the dryness turns me off a bit.

Bottle from the <a href=http://www.lcbo.com target=blank>LCBO in Peterborough. Bottle #11528. Deep copper in colour, lasting off-white head, some lace. The aroma was of minor alcohol, light sweetness, malty(caramel, earthy) and some hop bite. The flavour is rather sweet, malty (caramel/toffee), noticable alcohol, smooth mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes lingering, sweet. Nice.

Big bucks for this ale. dark copper and clear with a nice beige lasting head. Sweet malt aroma with hints of bread and some spice. Flavour is sweet with caramel and vanilla with notes of nuts and spice. Hops dry the beer out for the finish.
