Brownish with a rich smell. Lasting head. A deep intensive aroma that embodies you thoroughly, but the flavor is a little bit too sweet. Still very enjoyable but a little bit overpriced.

Bottle: Amber color, light decent head. Nose of light crisp hops and some earthy malts. The flavor is a light sweet malty note along with a caramel and alcohol note in the tail. The finish is chewy, a bit unbalanced, but a good ESA in the long run.

Chestnut brown reddish colour with a small foamy tan head. Malty aroma with alcohol notes and hints of wood and a light fruityness. Malty, alcohol sweet flavor with a light fruityness and hints of oak. Dry dusty finish.

Vinous texture with flavors of dried fruits, caramel, oak casks, sherry, and maple syrup. All followed by a lighly hopped alcohol burn and peppery finish. Very likeable.

#58--- pours out dark brown/red in color with a tan head. this is something i feel may be a little underrated - as this beer was nice, smooth, and really drinkable. it was not very sweet as i was thinking it would have been. still, a decent effort, and my first of their vintage series. i will be buying a few bottles of this while i can. reminds me of 1845 with alot of kick. good beer

From Whole Foods in Cary, NC. Deep copper/ruby tinged pour with off-white head. The aroma was caramel malty and fruity. The taste had a firm fruity, tart red winey quality to it, with a solid caramel malt presence. Some Fuggles appeared as it warmed and overtook the fruit.

(Bottle #23305) Amber coloured with a thick head. Malty aroma with notes of caramel, liquorice and alcohol. Sweet flavour with hints of dried fruit. Alcohol-bitter finish. Not too bad but still too young.
