Bottle at the Mad Bishop and Bear. A sherry-like oxydation. A sourness resembling good Belgian ales. Add some fruit - apples, cheries, apricot, a punch of malty fullness and a refreshing hoppy dryness.

[2005 bottle enjoyed 11.29.07] Dark amber pour with minimal beige head. Strong aroma of caramel, lots of malt, some vinegar, and something sweet, definite signs of aging. Lots of caramel flavor, very crisp, raisins, nutty: pecans, very nicely aged malt, some whiskey, somewhat woody, prefect for smoking a cigar. Palate is acceptable....smooth, body is perfect..not too sticky, just enough. I wish I waited another year and it would be that much better. 8.3.8.4.17

Pours a deep mahogany color. Sweet cherry aroma with some sherrylike alcohol aroma. Flavor has alot of alcohol flavor in it which makes it a sipper. A dark fruit and woody flavor comes out after you adjust to the alcohol.

Cloudy, amber color with a decent white head which disappears while drinking. Flavor is mostly malt and a little sweet in the finish. Aftertaste is a little dry and lingers a bit. Overall, a nice interesting beer and fairly easy to drink compared to some vintage beers I’ve tried.

Thin offwhite head. Amber body. Sweet malty papery resiny tobaccoish aroma. Dry resiny wooden papery malty taste with sharpish mouthfeel. Dry malty aftertaste. Nice! (0.5l bottle at RBNAG’07.)
