4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasted 29/05/2009. 500ml bottle from Regional Wines and Spirits. A tasty drop... caramel, woody spice, a little heirloom orange and a long complex finish with just the right bitterness. Classic. Like Old 95 of old with a dash of Thomas Hardy. Aged nicely... get into it now.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: SEP 17, 2015 [Bottle from the Six Bells pub] Deep, slightly hazy amber with a thin white head. Lots of raisins up front, then orange pours through. Rich, vinous and heady like a quality sherry. Thereís some Christmas cake in there, and some spiciness too - pepper and nutmeg. The alcohol is evident, but is kept in check; the sweetness works well with a late, light, earthy hop bitterness. A sumptuous, beautiful beer that I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to have tried!

Bottled. Amazing aroma with fermented fruits, a bit like port wine. The taste is not the best, but still awesome. Fruit, licorice, coffee. The finish is one of the longest Iíve had. Just great.

Bottle from Monument Wine. Pours cloudy amber with an attractive beige head and a wonderful toffee aroma. The flavor is bread, caramel and electric hops with initial sweetness that fades to bitter. This is a lovely ale that is both flavorful and warm.
