COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Floor malted Optic malt; Fuggles and Super Styrian hops.
Edition of 100,000
This full-bodied vintage is brewed with Fuggles and Super Styrian hops that create a tapestry of rich, spicy flavours. Orange, citrus and fruitcake notes are all present, and are balanced well with the biscuity, creamy malt flavours leaving a soft and warming finish.

Botlle#50894. (Gift) Medium sweet aroma, gentle hop character (dry and fruity), hints of spice. Dark amber almost pale brown, good pour on top, fine lacing (3+) Slightly shallow up front but flavours show up more in the middle. At first sweet switched into hop notes and finally dry alcohol. Here we can see how young this ale is. A bit rough and to dry at end. I would follow recommendation of brewmaster and try in few years. Fresh sample gets only 12/20.

Bottle 58,950 from poperinge. Thanks! I like bottle labels produced in countries without silly warnings about the dangers of alcohol-- as if we didnít know. Pours a rich red with ample head and lacing. Aroma is Welchís grape juice and strawberry. Flavor is a thick mixture of leaves, licorice, and malt. Bitter maple syrup in the finish. Thick palate. Obviously well-made, but this one just isnít sexy enough for me.

Malt and hops nose, hint of chocolate, tequila sunrise colour, pours a firm two fingers of tan head, some pretty lace. Taste is assertive alcohol and malt, hops are subdued, mildly caramelized, trace of almonds. A bit strong in the alcohol, but Iím sure it will mellow with time. Good.

Toffeish malts, liquoricey spicy alcohol. Marmaladey but unfortunately in a caramelised oxford style marmalade rather than your more zingy standard variety. Some earthy hop. A bit over sweet with interesting flavours but just slightly overdone.

Poured an attractive ruby and brown color with a nice off-white head that was two fingers or so tall and provided nice lacing. The aroma showed a lot of alcohol initially, almost an uncomfortable amount. As it opened up, thick, biscuity malts and light citrus came out along with some spice. The flavor was plagued by the alcohol initially too. Half an hour of letting it breathe allowed the malt to develop and the hops to come out. Super dry, hoppy finish. Decent mouthfeel. Was expecting more.

(bottle #77764): Pours a reddish brownish color body. Clearish, with an okay sized white head, but soon diminishing. Dark fruit aroma, fig, raisin. Some mustiness, and a little alcohol too. Cherry too. Some hops balance the nose, but not a lot. Not a very strong aroma. Some coffee/toffee tastes. Muted taste, some fig taste. Some dark cherry. But there’s not much flavor present. Okay mouthfeel, carbonated. This one might not have aged as well in my fridge.

bottle 95407. Slightly hazy amber with ruby orange and a picturesque white head. Smells like dried pine and dusty dry malt. Very cabin-in-the-woodsy. Starts nice with some fig and cherries and fresh baked bread, but then a hot alcohol presence arrives and pierces my entire mouth. Itís as if you added brandy to the glass, separated and uncomplimentary. Finishes hot and cloying with sweet residue and some raspberry jam.

Tasted with and on behalf of Donfardz64 and Demise :) .... On the nose: A caramel malt dominates. Some herb notes, crisp apple with other simple fruit. Floral notes, some yeast. Flavours: Much less sweet than a 2008. A little more complexity in the bitterness. Not just alcohol, but possibly some hops. Still kind of cloying and hard to drink .
