COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Floor malted Optic malt; Fuggles and Super Styrian hops.
Edition of 100,000
This full-bodied vintage is brewed with Fuggles and Super Styrian hops that create a tapestry of rich, spicy flavours. Orange, citrus and fruitcake notes are all present, and are balanced well with the biscuity, creamy malt flavours leaving a soft and warming finish.

Pours a clear orange amber with a thick persistant tan head.Sweet malty aroma with some citric hop notes, caramel. Sweet malty flavour, bitter hops. This could do with a bigger malt base as it feels kind of thin. Maybe some cellar time will help.

Very big differance between aroma and flavor. Aroma is a bit "thin", small hints of laqurice and medicine. Flavor is big, lots of fine laqurice, heavy complex bitterness, and long, long, long finish. Oily texture.

Bottle. Golden amber with small off-white head. Raisins and spices in the somewhat weak aroma. Has distinctive coppery notes in the flavor. Pretty average finish. Maybe this beer shouldent have left the cellar yet! I guess it tastes better in a year or two.

Maltybones (62) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 18, 2007
Starts will a small, quickly receeding off-white head. Despite being bottle conditioned, pours clear with a dark amber/red body. The initial quite hoppy aroma is offset by the more malty flavour, with slightly burnt, biscuity notes. Very creamy palate makes it seem more filling and carbonated than it really is. The complexity of the flavours makes this an interesting brew, but some of it gets overshadowed by the creaminess.

Medium offwhite beige head. Amber body. Orangey malty aroma with nutty hop notes. Dry sharpish malty nutty caramel taste. Sharpish, harsh mouthfeel. Dry caramelly nutty aftertaste. Very nice! (0.5l bottle at RBNAGí07.)

500ml bottle. Pours a cloudy dark brown colour. Aroma of caramel, coffee. I was pleasantly surprised by this beer.

Bottle poured a lightly hazy copper with a small lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of toffee, carmel and fruittiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of toffee, carmel, light spice and light fruittiness with a smooth lingering bitter finish.

#74602, capped and taped 500ml. Pours a gorgeous crystal clear ruddy medium amber with a towering, sudsy light tan head. Plenty of webby lacing. Orangey, somewhat toffee-like nose; Iíd agree with the brewer that itís a bit fruitcakey. Very understated flavors all over. Light biscuit and some toast, followed by peppery hop and a rather unpleasant alcohol burn.

Bottle #74876: † Reddish caramel, large foamy off-white head, attractive lacing. † Nose of caramel, peat, lavender, and minor alcohol. † Seems rather ordinary, at least less than I expected. † Flavorwise its rather weak, sweet malts, some caramel, toffee, maybe a little bit of Good & Plenty like candy sweetness. † Yeah, totally perfumy on the backside, reminds me of the coating on those little licorice candies (Good & Plenty). † Somewhat boozy on the finish, thinner than expected. † Not as complex as I remembered. † I get the feeling this wonít get any better with age... except to say less hot. † Moderate body and mouthfeel. † Unimpressed. † Seems too simple, too young, and not big enough to age well. † Itís almost watery, certainly much less viscous than other years. † This one was a letdown. † Lingering alcohol, soft sweet malts, and fusels. † I was expecting quite a bit more. † Damn...
