COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Floor malted Optic malt; Fuggles and Super Styrian hops.
Edition of 100,000
This full-bodied vintage is brewed with Fuggles and Super Styrian hops that create a tapestry of rich, spicy flavours. Orange, citrus and fruitcake notes are all present, and are balanced well with the biscuity, creamy malt flavours leaving a soft and warming finish.

Stopped regular rating 22nd Oct 2012 so this is one of one of my occasional ratings, had this for the Online Mass Rating for Fullers Vintage on 11th December 2012 This beer was better than the 2004 but maybe not quite as good as the 2011. Plenty of orange and whilst quite sweet, it is a sweetness that works rather well. Fruity with a hefty maltiness, some toffee and quite warming but not to heavy on the alcohol front, it has definitely mellowed with age. Reasonable carbonation, looks good and drinking very well. Bottle number 18123 opened in March 2014. Copper coloured with a ring of cream head; rich, raisiny aroma with a touch of spice; thick and oily texture, with caramel and mellow, vinous fruits, but also with a surprisingly sharp bitterness giving some dry spice; the finish has more raisins and sultanas. This seems to have aged better than other years.

Bottled. Amazing aroma with fermented fruits, a bit like port wine. The taste is not the best, but still awesome. Fruit, licorice, coffee. The finish is one of the longest I’ve had. Just great.

Aroma: caramel malts, dark fruits. Appearance: clear dark gold/amber, medium frothy head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: complex sweetness, some light bitters, dried fruits, caramel malts. Overall: very nice English Strong Ale, big fan of those Vintage Ales. Bottle at the Jugged Hare, Victoria.

Bottle from John’s Marketplace via Phil. Pours a medium brown, very little head. Aroma dried fruit, caramel, toffee. Body medium but with a lingering sweetness. Not my thing, but superb.

Appearance: Hazy ruby with cm thick ivory head which was quick to disappear. Aroma: Liquorice, mint, dried fig, golden syrup. Taste: Medium sweetness, low/medium bitter and sourness. Palate: Thick smooth texture, medium body, low/average carbonation, dry lingering minty, liquorice, mead like, dried fig, fairly sweet finish. A bit spiritous and liqueur like. Comments: Delicious. No. 11525.

Bottle from my extensive Fullers Vintage stash. A hazy orange/brown coloured pour with a thin white head on top that doesn’t hang around for long. Sweet, boozy, caramel, dark fruit aroma. Taste is similar, slightly boozy, dark fruit, caramel, quite sweet. Actually not too boozy and quite easy to drink. This has aged very well, bloody tasty stuff.
