Commercial Description:
A classic Vintage Ale with an aroma which incorporates spicy hop notes with rich fruit character and leads on to a very full malty, fruity, sweet palate which has a surprisingly clean finish coupled with a matching bitterness.
I have handcrafted this beer from the finest Fuggles, Target and Super Styrian hops, Maris Otter malted barley and of course, our unique yeast to create a truly extraordinary unique brew. - John Keeling, Brewmaster

Bottle. Deep amber color, thick off-white head. Very sweet and complex aroma, with caramel and some plum. Taste is full of juicy malts, sweet spices and some notes of alcohol. Very nice indeed and it went great with English Stilton. I have a couple of bottles stored away, so I’ll be rerating this one in a couple of years.

Bottle--I wished I would have time to cellar this, but I bought it at a pub. The beer was a solid amber color with a foamy, off white head. The aroma was full of malt and some spice. The taste started with malts, followed by spices and finishing with an alcoholic bite. Overall, pretty complex. Brick Store Pub.

Tasted at Real Ale Festival VIP session... amber color, malty fruit flavor, not much else to it. I wasn’t all that impressed.

Bottle.Caramel colour, high carb with a very thick, irregular off-white head. Very clear for being bottle conditioned. Smells like sweet baked bread and carmalized sugar. Flavour starts with raison anf figs with caramel and light alchohol, with notes of cinnamon and clove. Finishes woody with a mild bitterness that becomes more apparant with warming. Full, thick mouthfeel.

Bottle # 132656. Excellent pour with a foamy beige head and amber/orange transparent color. Decent lacing as head collapsed over 5 minutes or so. Slightly chemical aroma, but mostly just a pungent hop presence with hints at fruit/sweet. Flavor explodes in the mouth with sweetness, finishing with a light bitterness with some grainy flavors. Nice lingering finish. Fun beer to drink, but not what I’d reach for first on my shelf.

When pouring this ale, it turns out that it is light amber, and 75% off-white foamy head. The head lasts a while. Pleasant aroma of malt, hops, dough, spice, alcohol, and cream. Flavor starts off sweet, malty, and quickly turns spicy and hoppy with a hint of alhocol and dough. This is a very complex brew, and a damn fine one, ifyou really must ask. The finish is alcoholic. Surely this would improve with age. I encourage you to let this one sit in the cellar a while, if you are so encouragable.
