| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 25, 2007 I’m sure that this will improve with time, but it is already wonderful. Nose of hops and malts and dried fruit. Crystal clear golden amber, small off white head, quickly vanishes. Taste of caramel and toffee, malts, characteristic Fullers malt, great combination of Fuggles earthy hops and a long bitter citrus finish. Marvelous. mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 22, 2007 when I think of English strong ales, I think of Fullers 1845 and of the Fullers Vintage series. This series ages so well that starting in 2004 I began cellaring 4-5 bottles of each vntage. This is a premium beer now. But I’ll be rating it again in a few years! trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2007 Pours dark brown and burgundy with a 1 cm thick tan head. Hops, toffee, spice cake batter, and kind of a sour/metallic malt aroma. Rich, thick mouthfeel. Smooth, hoppy taste that was very unexpected. Spice, oranges, and a zucchini-bread like maltiness. Very nice. Svesse (2613), Hässelby, Sweden
