Commercial Description:
A classic Vintage Ale with an aroma which incorporates spicy hop notes with rich fruit character and leads on to a very full malty, fruity, sweet palate which has a surprisingly clean finish coupled with a matching bitterness.
I have handcrafted this beer from the finest Fuggles, Target and Super Styrian hops, Maris Otter malted barley and of course, our unique yeast to create a truly extraordinary unique brew. - John Keeling, Brewmaster

This amber ale poured with a decent beige head, eliciting a malty barnyard aroma. This is a full-flavored ale that is equally malty, hoppy and fruity. A very nice brew.

Bottle. Clear maber colour with decent off-white head. Aroma offers Malt, green hops and dried fruits. A dose of alcohol as well. Flavor has rather sweet malt which is balanced with dried fruits and hops though. Pretty lasting finish dominated by hops and alcohol. Powerfull ale.

I’m sure that this will improve with time, but it is already wonderful. Nose of hops and malts and dried fruit. Crystal clear golden amber, small off white head, quickly vanishes. Taste of caramel and toffee, malts, characteristic Fullers malt, great combination of Fuggles earthy hops and a long bitter citrus finish. Marvelous.

Bottle(122918) from BevMo. Fairly dark amber color upon pouring. Slightly sweet aroma of malts and breadiness. Flavor is dominated by old fruit up front and is somewhat vinous. Full flavored. Doesn’t seem as hot as last year at this time.

when I think of English strong ales, I think of Fullers 1845 and of the Fullers Vintage series. This series ages so well that starting in 2004 I began cellaring 4-5 bottles of each vntage. This is a premium beer now. But I’ll be rating it again in a few years!

Pours dark brown and burgundy with a 1 cm thick tan head. Hops, toffee, spice cake batter, and kind of a sour/metallic malt aroma. Rich, thick mouthfeel. Smooth, hoppy taste that was very unexpected. Spice, oranges, and a zucchini-bread like maltiness. Very nice.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 7 Dec 2007) Dark amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of dried fruit, chocolate, caramel, marzipan and raspberries. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, chocolate, fruitcake, black-currant, raspberries and lots of earthy hops in a warming finish. Very complex, with lovely balance. As usual, a lovely beer!
