A classic Vintage Ale with an aroma which incorporates spicy hop notes with rich fruit character and leads on to a very full malty, fruity, sweet palate which has a surprisingly clean finish coupled with a matching bitterness.
I have handcrafted this beer from the finest Fuggles, Target and Super Styrian hops, Maris Otter malted barley and of course, our unique yeast to create a truly extraordinary unique brew. - John Keeling, Brewmaster

Golden-amber colour. Bright (actually no trace of residual yeast at the bottom of the bottle either). Thin head. Earthy, mushroomy nose with hints of obscure UK hops and diacetyl. Complex character - earthy, chalky, minerally - is more reminiscent of Yorkshire than London. Caramelly and toffee malts, lots of earth, hops like Typhoo tea and a brawny, woody, alcoholic finish. Damn fine - not as stellar as last yearís but an impressive bottle nonetheless.

50 cl bottle. Actually my first fullers vintage ale, though the rest of the bottles in the series is within my reach. Poured into my girlfriends "De Ranke" glass. Poured amber/copper with a creamy off white head. Wonderfull aroma of dark malts, caramel, alcohol and quite a bit of hops. Low carbonation & a medium (full bodied) filling smooth body/texture. Overall good balance, not as sweet as expected and a lot more hoppier than expected (Fresh hops). Light warmth from alcohol. Sticky palate. Perhaps a "sipper style of beer", but I could drink this all night! Dope! Cant wait to taste the rest!

Bottle at EBF08. Vinous aroma. Cloudy reddish brown colour. The flavour is actually not that powerful, vinous with some alcohol.

No. 143619. Aromas of roasted malt and floral hop. Not bad for a green beer. Rich coppery amber color and a white head that went down immediately. Near medium body with creamy carbonation. Roasted caramel/toffee flavors, with a bit of heat and floral/grassy hop. Hints of cacao. Finish is dryish, floralish and delicious. Got one aside for a few years down the road - if I can hold off.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2015 Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Real Ale Festival 2008) Fruit cake, woody, moist pipe tobacco. Sweet sticky malty body, apple pie and raisins, spicy and warming. Very young, I expect an old one to be more sophisticated.

Beautiful raisiny aroma, super mellow palate, taste super mellow. Woh - this is utterly amazing. It wafts around the mouth beautifully. Lovely bitterness in the finish. The farty bottom of the bottle was even better. Yum!!!

Bottle #112945 from Party Town. Poured clear deep amber with a huge frothy light brown head that lasted and produced excellent lacing. Good well balanced hop and malt aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture. Good well balanced flavor with a moderate balanced and small alcohol tone finish of moderate duration. Very good brew.

500 ml bottle poured a lightly hazy orange with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, spice, fruitiness and a hint of toffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of toffee, carmel, light fruitiness and a faint hint of spice with a smooth warming bittersweet finish.

Bottled, 500ml (no. 63156) from Sainsburyís in Banbury. Orange amber with no head. This was flat unfortunately. Initially, malty, fruity, quite sweet, then it is overtaken with quite a spiced note, more pronounced than previous versions of this than I remember, quite peppery with a hint of curry powder. Because of the lack of condition there is no real finish to it, itís over and you take the next sip. Itís ok, but certainly not the best vintage.
