Pours a deep amber with nice beige head. Aroma of sweet caramel and dark fruit. Flavor of dark fruit and caramel. Mouthfeel is full bodied with med. carbonation. I really enjoyed this! austone (1039), Turku; Pori, Finland
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 1, 2008 Bottle #86447. Beautiful deep amber, nicely lacing off-white head. Caramel malty nose, little grain, citric fruits and flowery hops. Alcohol gets more pronounced when warmer, but nothing too disturbing. Flavor is sweet caramel malts, resin and quite intense hops. Nice balancing seedy citric bitterness. Pretty good strong ale, nice piney & citric hops. I’ll surely try it again in a year or two. chandler0201 (367), Durham, North Carolina, USA

I smell malt and toffee...but when I drank it I was surprised to find it a bit hoppier and overall a well balanced beer. A good beer indeed! tokyogoat (586), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 5, 2009 Pours copper color with a thick creamy head resembling the top of an ice cream float.
head dissipates into a thinner seafoam with massive lacing.
Smells of sweet apples and buttered pecan.
Taste is loaded with caramel, sauteed apples, light yeast, and butter. Delicious, but still not quite what North Coasts Old Stock ale is. Surprised cause i thought this one would dethrone it.
Sticky with sweetness, but not cloying at all.
two thumbs up.
