Commercial Description:
A classic Vintage Ale with an aroma which incorporates spicy hop notes with rich fruit character and leads on to a very full malty, fruity, sweet palate which has a surprisingly clean finish coupled with a matching bitterness.
I have handcrafted this beer from the finest Fuggles, Target and Super Styrian hops, Maris Otter malted barley and of course, our unique yeast to create a truly extraordinary unique brew. - John Keeling, Brewmaster

Definitely will benefit from some time, but all of the elements that make these great are there- lovely malt character, just a bit hot right now.

Bottle(122918) from BevMo. Fairly dark amber color upon pouring. Slightly sweet aroma of malts and breadiness. Flavor is dominated by old fruit up front and is somewhat vinous. Full flavored. Doesn’t seem as hot as last year at this time.

Bottle. #143650 Copper/amber beer with a nice off-white head. Sweet, earthy, malty aroma. Sweet, caramel, malt, citrus, earthy flavor. Medium body. Lingering caramel/toffee with some stone fruit and citrus/earthy hops. Nice balance. Time will mellow the sweetness, but it’s very drinkable right now.

Bottle 137746 from Riverside Red X, sampled in May 2009. The body was hazy medium copper with a dense light tan head. Vinous notes up front in the nose with some toffee and a little bit of apple. The taste has some lightly salty leather notes with toffee sweetness in the back of the throat. The carbonation is still fairly lively and you get a little bit of black pepper, but it is light, in the finish. A nice and interesting brew that is lighter and more refreshing than I would have expected for the abv.

(Stockholm Beer Festival 2007) Cask. Golden/amber color, small head. Yeasty, malty fruity aroma with raisins and some figs. Vinous malty flavor, raisins, sweet fruitsd and some bitter notes. Good beer and this will of course improve with time.

when I think of English strong ales, I think of Fullers 1845 and of the Fullers Vintage series. This series ages so well that starting in 2004 I began cellaring 4-5 bottles of each vntage. This is a premium beer now. But I’ll be rating it again in a few years!

Bottle. Pours deep mahogany with a large, frothy, off-white head, lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, cookie, nutty), average hops (perfume, flowers), light yeast (dough) with notes of apple, pear, date, and alcohol. Full bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.
