Commercial Description:
A classic Vintage Ale with an aroma which incorporates spicy hop notes with rich fruit character and leads on to a very full malty, fruity, sweet palate which has a surprisingly clean finish coupled with a matching bitterness.
I have handcrafted this beer from the finest Fuggles, Target and Super Styrian hops, Maris Otter malted barley and of course, our unique yeast to create a truly extraordinary unique brew. - John Keeling, Brewmaster

Well, I managed to save this until my birthday 01/23/1986 (incase anyone wants to send me a present next year, lol). Pours an amber orange with a lightly beige head. So far the aroma is a bit thin, mostly caramel, malt, and cardboard. The flavour is tastey, complex, earthy, with caramel malt sweetness, toffee, a tad watery in the middle but it picks up with a good licorice finish wich blends with a bit pf malt aftertaste. A tasty brew.

minimal aroma and head. nice amber color. good initial hop flavour that changes to a more prounounced hop profile. finishes with some alcohol taste, but this is relatively subdued considering its smoothness in comparison to the alcohol content.

At $8.35 a bottle this came in a box and the bottle poured a nice cloudy rich amber color with a light tan head and some sticky lacing rings. Nose of caramel malts and some citrus hops, backed up with odors of ripe fruit. Quite a tantalizing odor. Mouthfeel is rich and creamy. Flavor is also very rich and there is long dry bitter finish. I found this quite drinkable and enjoyable.

This beer was very strong for its relatively low imperial abv. I liked that the alcohol was there with every sip because it really pressed the spicier notes against the palate. Time would unquestionably make this beer much better, as it tastes very green now, but mine was good with only a year on it. The sugars would have helped if they were ripened though. Still I thought it was great.

Bottle. Ruddy amber color, loose layer of foam that quickly dissipates. Toasted grains, mild muddy hops, more alcohol present than the other vintage ale I’ve had. Taste is malt forward, but gets some vanilla tastes, some alcohol and pepper notes, murky hops. Overall, very nice, perhaps could use a little time.
