COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our 12th Vintage features two of our favourite English hop varieties, Northdown and Challenger. These, combined with floor malted Maris Otter malt, produce a rich fruit aroma laced with dark orange hop notes. A full luxurious mouthfeel is finished off with a satisfying alcohol warmth.

Forced to have this today - best by end of 2011 for the 2008 vintage bottle #130,235, pours a five+ very light tan head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Cloudy brown color with yeast left in bottle. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Caramel and light alcohol nose and flavor is caramel with a sweet alcohol finish. Another good year. $8.59 for a 500ml bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, Vt.

Bottled. Pours russet with a pool of off-white head. A boozy aroma. A bit of sour fruit. Harsh alcohol in the mouth. Very fruity with cakey notes. Not got the warming mellow alcohol of other vintages and turns out too hot. Has chocolate notes amidst the bitterness. Not on a par with other years.

Nice crisp amber pour with a thin cream head. Nose is rich malts, toffee, dough, bread, and caramel. Excellent on the palate, huge malt bomb, dried fruits, toffee, bread, light chewiness.

Bottle@ home 10/12/11. Need to try this one again as something wrong with bottle. Full of higher alcohols and esters. Pear skins on the nose, pear juice and solvent in the mouth...unpleasant.

I was planning on doing a 6 yr vertical but Iíve figured that this will never happen. Burnt orange brew that is not quite hazy to me eyeballs and a light tan bubbly head that settles and stays till my glass was lonely without beer. The aroma is sweet and malty with a bit of spice. Brown sugary orange, hints of anise, sweet caramel, perfume, nuggat, some sort of meaty fruit. The candy fruit part seemed to take forever to round into something interesting. The nose has went from subpar to stellar but that took half an hour of sitting. Hints of soap as well. Early on the alcohol was almost unbearable with a hard faceless bitterness. Later on this dulls but doesnít entirely disappear. Light sweet spices, candy orange mixed with caramel, man I donít like this taste - the alcohol and things just ate not settling well with me. Light oily feel and a soft mouth feel. The í05 is still the champ.

Nightfall (1307) - Hamburg, GERMANY - NOV 23, 2011
Denmark, Aug-Sept 2009. Vitnage 2008. Golden/amber with practically no head at all. Overwhelmingly sweet malt aroma, caramel and vanilla. Taste is also very sweet caramel malt, very ripe fruit, raisins, prunes, toffeee, sugar, vanilla, wood, spices. Well crafted and complex but a bit over sweet for my taste.

[4082-20111101] 500mL bottle. Mild airy fruit aroma. Slightly hazy, amber brown body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Grainy fruit skin fruit malt flavour is quite sweet and boozy. Medium-full body. Tasty. (7/3/8/4/14) 3.6
