4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Much better than last year. The challenger acts as the sheriff in what could be an unruly ale. The finish is nuttier than anticipated but works wonderfully. Perfect balance. Perfect colour and head.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasted 01/02/2009. 500ml boxed bottle from Regional Wines and Spirits. Rose gold. A hint of autolysis and hop, rich malt, a little nut and autumn fruit, balancing bitterness. Spicy warming finish. Simple. Divine. The magnificence of malt is so under-rated on this side of the planet. Iím heading out to buy some more.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours hazy brown with red hints and a fluffy white head. Smells fruity and of alcohol, kind of like a barley wine. Tastes of fruitiness that moves toward grain and then hints of alcohol. Full-bodied with a velvety texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Fullerís Vintage Ale 2008 finishes mellow.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy reddish brown with orange highlights. Aroma of toffee, fruitcake, wood, leaves, light sherry, caramel and cornbread. Tastes pretty sweet and malty with a lot of caramel, toffee, wood, port, raisin, brown sugar, and a minimized fruitcake aspect (though itís still there of course). Finishes earthy and elegant with a bit of earth, toast, wood, dessert spice and a brown sugar-esque malt that lingers for ages. Full bodied and creamy, seems bigger than the 07 Vintage Ale. I love this!

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Forced to have this today - best by end of 2011 for the 2008 vintage bottle #130,235, pours a five+ very light tan head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Cloudy brown color with yeast left in bottle. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Caramel and light alcohol nose and flavor is caramel with a sweet alcohol finish. Another good year. $8.59 for a 500ml bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, Vt.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: JUL 23, 2015 Bottle from Waitrose Newcastle (aged for 4 years before drinking). Dark amber with toffee apple and caramel flavours, sweet red fruity and vanilla notes with a very light sweet fruity finish. Superb!
Drank 2015-07-23, aged for approx. 7 years. A hazy copper coloured beer with a rich plum and blackcurrant flavour, toffee and malty notes followed by sherbet, oak and vanilla on the finish. After 7 years this is almost losing its freshness.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottled (from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki). Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is fruity, wooden, toffeeish along with quite evident nuttyness and zest. Flavour is hoppy, nutty with some mild spices and licorice. Alcohol gives a huge sweet peak towards the finish. Aftertaste is raisins, mild alcohol, some flowery hops as well as spices. This already tastes very promising for cellaring.
