COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vintage Ale is a truly distinguished bottle conditioned beer. Each vintage is a blend of that yearís finest malt and hops, creating a unique limited edition brew. Being bottle conditioned, it is after bottling that the flavours truly begin to develop, and continue to do so well beyond the best before date that we are obliged to state.

The 2009 Vintage features Kent grown Golding Hops and East Anglian Tipple malted barly. It has an intial aroma of rich Muscavado sugar followed by a brandied caramelised

A big olí bottle from the finish of Copenhagen í10: raisiny aroma. An I tense tobacco and date flavour. Too boozy I reckon. Pushing the limits of delicious.

from erzbierschof.ch - pours a very clear red-amber colour with a poor head retention; chewy malts in the nose, caramel, hops and red fruits; sweet and sticky; full-bodied and with a fair but subtle carbonation; a decent bitterness and a long malty and fruity hoppy finish - doesnít look as complex as in the past years

FROTHINGSLOSH (4785) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 5, 2010
My first tasting of this line of beers. Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer poured a vivid caramel amber color with a small beige head. The aroma was ripe candied fruits but not a whole lot else. The flavor was yeasty, nutty and sweetish with light candied pear, toast and sugar. The alcohol shows through quite a bit on the flavor. Medium length finish and fairly full bodied. Interesting but a bit of a disappointment.

Wonderful look, amber color with a thick creamy head. As Iíve been used to in these recent years, the aroma is mostly disappointing: vegetables, cabbage, dust, alcohol and just light caramel. Strong body, with oily mouthfeel; average caramel flavor; the final is oily and nutty. Correct bitterness. This beer ainít get any better in a few years.

Bottle from Waitrose at Wolverhampton. Golden and clear. medium head and a full body. Subtle sweetness. Is it my imagination or are these annual beers getting more bland? Certainly not as impressive as previous years.
