Vintage Ale is a truly distinguished bottle conditioned beer. Each vintage is a blend of that yearís finest malt and hops, creating a unique limited edition brew. Being bottle conditioned, it is after bottling that the flavours truly begin to develop, and continue to do so well beyond the best before date that we are obliged to state.

The 2009 Vintage features Kent grown Golding Hops and East Anglian Tipple malted barly. It has an intial aroma of rich Muscavado sugar followed by a brandied caramelised

Bottle No. 118663. Pours a clear, brilliant copper with a good foamy light beige head. Aromas of nicely roasted caramel and floral hop. Near full bodied with really foamy carbonation. Flavor is spicey, floral hoppy over a nice roast malt. Suggests a tobacco note in a way. Also quite fruity. The spicey hot bits hit the tongue. This is a smooth and drinkable ale. Love it.

Nice packaging and bottle. Pours deep auburn with and off-white head. Smells of red licorice, caramel, candied fruits, light allspice, nuts and hints of vanilla. Flavor is a rich blend of the aromas with a hearty malt backbone and clean finish with warming alcohol. Mouthfeel was medium viscosity with smooth woody texture. A very nice ale to compliment the season.

Bottle shared by KnutAlbert. A low offwhite head upon a brilliant, amber colored body. Clean, light sweet malt aroma. Faint caramel, some mild spices, and a scent of tropical fruits. Taste is soft malty, on the sweet side. Notes of ripe oranges and pepper. Also a certain sharp-edged acidity is noticable. Filling, but not as smooth as the vintages. A pleasant alcohol heat, and a fine fruity and mild bitter ending. Good stuff, witch Iím looking forward to sample after some years of cellaring.

Small coarseish offwhite head doesnít last. Amber body. Fruity caramelly wooden aroma with spicy notes. Dry-sweetish caramelly wooden oranges taste with spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dryish fruity oranges aftertaste. Very good, but boring compared to the aged vintages. (0.5l bottle, thanks to KnutAlbert.)

A bit of a let down when compared to the other fullers vintage but still a good beer. Pours an amber colour with a short lived white head. The aroma is at first very metallic with only a light floral hop coming through, as the beer warms the metallic smell disappears and the aroma becomes dominated by notes of caramel and apple cider with light notes of oak. The flavour is caramalts, apple cider, a light oakiness and a touch of bourbon in the finish. There is a bit of alcohol sweetness and some warmth coming through from the abv. All and all a decent brew, just not as good as I expected, the oakiness was strange, iím pretty sure this isnít oak aged, but it was a pleasant touch.

Pours amber with a modest beige head and an intense toffee aroma. There is a delicious caramel malt flavor with a dry more bitter finish. This beer is very well-crafted and tasty.

Appearance: Pours a dark, clear amber with a decent, sudsy white head. Aroma: Pear, caramel, vanilla, herbal hops, and a slight hint of booze. Taste: Dry cocoa, milk chocolate, bitter and herbal hops, plum, apple and dark booze. Mouthfeel: Thin and fizzy. Overall: Magnificent, a true classic. It smelled so good, it took me 15 minutes before taking my first sip.

Cask@GBBF2009. Cobweb aroma. Whiskey hot flavour. Young and crude. Lots of malt. Lots of hop. Not yet rubbing together. Toffee. OK.
