COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vintage Ale is a truly distinguished bottle conditioned beer. Each vintage is a blend of that yearís finest malt and hops, creating a unique limited edition brew. Being bottle conditioned, it is after bottling that the flavours truly begin to develop, and continue to do so well beyond the best before date that we are obliged to state.

The 2009 Vintage features Kent grown Golding Hops and East Anglian Tipple malted barly. It has an intial aroma of rich Muscavado sugar followed by a brandied caramelised

Pours a reddish brown color with a creamy tannish colored head. Aroma is of slight funk, a bit of vegetable ale scent as well, finished with a ever so slight hop note with a sweetness to it. Taste is extremely interesting, very sweet flavor from the malt body, deep caramel note followed by a very light bitterness which rounds it out. Overall a very complex and interesting drink, one to try but not overly drinkable.

Part of a vertical comparison, many thanks to M & L V.!. Huge cream-coloured head over faintly hazy amber beer. Molasses, caramel (the Muscovado!), and indeed, very sweet-smelling. Sweet-caramelly caramel-covered cookies, Cafť Noir, faint trace of raw alcohol (again the sugar?). Sticky, medium to full-bodied, viscous, but surprisingly well-carbonated. Perfectly balanced it would be, if half of the sugar would have been left out.
