4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
The 3rd fullers pulled from the cellar in this tasting spate - cloudy unfiltered dark amber with a smallish cap. Aroma has dark fruits and sweet malts in perfect balance with some sharp grassy hop notes. Flavor is a mellow conglomerate of sweet malts, fruity esters and some complexity with a distinct finish that showcases the hops. Unlike the previous sweeter vintages this one has some perfectly integrated hop bittering.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Notes of toffee, dark fruits, and a slightly vinous almost sherry like quality. Deep brown with almost no head. Balanced between deep malty notes and earthy complex bitterness. Medium to full bodied almost flat with a complex warming finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled 31/12/12. An amber coloured beer with a whiitsh head and lacing. Sweet and nutty. A candy sugar Belgian note to it. Moussey. Characterful but a bit messed up in comparison to other years. A good body. Tasty but oversweet.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
500 ml bottle bought at Ambrosetti, Berlin, in September, 2011, tasted in December, 2012. Murky amber with beige head that went down rather quickly. Very strong aroma of honey, fruits and caramel with hints of alcohol. Very sweet, maybe to sweet for an ale, full taste, low carbonation. I liked it!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 mL bottle. Cellared since new. Almost clear chestnut brown with very little head. Strong aroma has bruised fruit, as nice a caramel aroma as Iíve ever smelled, and a touch of booze. The flavor is quite complex as well, with the sweet fruit, caramel, and alcohol, along with a sharper fruit note, possibly apple, and burnt sugar. Carbonation is medium-low, possibly due to age. Whatever, itís perfect.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Not much thick head but something along the fine line. Heady and powerful bouquet which is not at all in your face but thereís a treasure trove of flavours in there. A light acidity followed by oak, bananas ansd vinous qualities. Full but not at all cloying.Crisp and still telatively youthful. Nice!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, 3 years old, courtesy of paulhegedus - thanks a lot! Pours gorgeous clear dark amber, with tan lacing. Aroma of sweet grapes (think Welchís), and slight butterscotch. Super smooth taste with fruit (raisins, grapes being strongest), butterscotch, and some very slight roasty notes. Slight alcoholic finish. Great stuff!

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled (number 017168) from biernavigatie.nl. Dark brown colored, off-white head. Caramel malty nose, raisins, Christmas pudding, British hops. Balanced sweet and somewhat bitter flavor, lots of caramel, malty. Lasting finish. Very much a winter beer. Sampled at 3 years old, but most likely could use some additional aging. You canít go wrong with a Fullers Vintage Ale, and although this is not my favorite one of the series, itís still absolutely high quality stuff.
