Vintage Ale is a truly distinguished bottle conditioned beer. Each vintage is a blend of that yearís finest malt and hops, creating a unique limited edition brew. Being bottle conditioned, it is after bottling that the flavours truly begin to develop, and continue to do so well beyond the best before date that we are obliged to state.

The 2009 Vintage features Kent grown Golding Hops and East Anglian Tipple malted barly. It has an intial aroma of rich Muscavado sugar followed by a brandied caramelised

Wonderful look, amber color with a thick creamy head. As Iíve been used to in these recent years, the aroma is mostly disappointing: vegetables, cabbage, dust, alcohol and just light caramel. Strong body, with oily mouthfeel; average caramel flavor; the final is oily and nutty. Correct bitterness. This beer ainít get any better in a few years.

Bottle at Casparís Running Toilet Tasting. Pours red-gold with a wild, white film. Leafy, herbal and lightly piney hops in the aroma, along with subtle caramel, toast and crackers. Very sweet flavor, lovely jam notes, some booze, ripe fruits. Full bodied with average but mouth-filling carbonation. Warm finish, notes of cake, toast, jammy fruits, faint leafy bitters, toasty sugars. Very nice.

Bottle 63349 from The Bottle Shop. I like this beer. I like this beer with a couple of years on it. Hazy deep orange amber with thick lasting beige head. Syrupy malty spicy aroma. Candied fruits fruit peel. Black pepper hop aroma. Mmmmm warm juicy lovely malts with lots of lemon and orange peel. Smooth carbonation. Good pepper hop. Good spicyness. I do like this beer. Just a touch of mustiness on aroma. But I love the fruit in the mouth. Smmoth caramel in mouth along with the fruit. Tasty as hell.

Bottle, 50cl. Bottle # 051049. Almost clear on the glass, golden in color and topped by a finger-thick beige to off-white head. Sugary nose with pine cones, mint hints and some alcohol. The flavor is sweet, almost like white sugar, with some alcohol and a pleasant piney bitterness. Full-bodied, warming and with a nice carbonation level. Bitter, sweet and warming in the finish. Overall, too sweet I think, but itís still a fine beer. 120106

Taste comprises dark malts, dates, prunes, sugars, toffee. Full end of medium bodied with moderate carbonation leading to a sweetish finish. Decent.

Cask@GBBF. Deep amber color, not much head. Nutty, a bit toffeish aroma. Alcoholic, butterscotch, nuts. Quite sweet and raw alcoholic so far, but someway more pleasant than some other young Fuller Vintages Iíve had on cask.

Bottle @ Vinens Verden, Odense. Pours a handsome clear amber color with a small creamy white head and lacings. A fresh bottle for sure. Very hoppy nose and though ive had the earlier vintages young as well, this is quite different. Nose is hops, fruit and buiscuit. Smooth and full palate. Alcohol well hidden. Taste is buiscuit, grain, caramel, toffee and grassy and perfumy hops. A very fine, though still young , Fullers Vintage!
