Hazy red - amber beer, nice pale cream coloured head. Smooth softish palate. Rich malt, very creamy and with a trace of toffee. Really nicely balanced with some bitter hops kicking in towards the semi dry finish. Just a very nice barleywine!

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle 63349 from The Bottle Shop. I like this beer. I like this beer with a couple of years on it. Hazy deep orange amber with thick lasting beige head. Syrupy malty spicy aroma. Candied fruits fruit peel. Black pepper hop aroma. Mmmmm warm juicy lovely malts with lots of lemon and orange peel. Smooth carbonation. Good pepper hop. Good spicyness. I do like this beer. Just a touch of mustiness on aroma. But I love the fruit in the mouth. Smmoth caramel in mouth along with the fruit. Tasty as hell.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, 50cl. Bottle # 051049. Almost clear on the glass, golden in color and topped by a finger-thick beige to off-white head. Sugary nose with pine cones, mint hints and some alcohol. The flavor is sweet, almost like white sugar, with some alcohol and a pleasant piney bitterness. Full-bodied, warming and with a nice carbonation level. Bitter, sweet and warming in the finish. Overall, too sweet I think, but it’s still a fine beer. 120106

Deep amber color, not much head. Nutty, a bit toffeish aroma. Alcoholic, butterscotch, nuts. Quite sweet and raw alcoholic so far, but someway more pleasant than some other young Fuller Vintages I’ve had on cask.
