COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vintage Ale is a truly distinguished bottle conditioned beer. Each vintage is a blend of that yearís finest malt and hops, creating a unique limited edition brew. Being bottle conditioned, it is after bottling that the flavours truly begin to develop, and continue to do so well beyond the best before date that we are obliged to state.

The 2009 Vintage features Kent grown Golding Hops and East Anglian Tipple malted barly. It has an intial aroma of rich Muscavado sugar followed by a brandied caramelised

50 cl bottle @ home. Bottle #020914, BBE 12/2012
Aroma is slightly sweet with strong grainy notes, toffee and some moldy notes. Flavour has toffee, woody notes and English hops. Finishes with unpleasant alcohol tones. Definitely a disappointment, 2008 was a lot better at this age.

Lagerboy (1260) - British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 12, 2013
500 ml bottle # 016783 Clear medium copper, smaller creamy tan head settles and mostly fades. Musty aroma of strong sweet malt. Sweet malty taste, caramel, toffee, some fruitiness, backseat earthy floral herbal hops, a lilí boozy and slightly oily. Soft carbonation, medium-full bodied, lightly hopped. A little disappointing. DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)

Vertical in 2014 with 2013, 2009, 2005 and 2000 Vintage compared. APPEARANCE: clear darker blond beer, small unstable off white head. NOSE: alcohol, signs of oxidation, some port. TASTE: alcohol, sweet, oxidated.

Bottle... Cloudy burnt-copper pour with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The aroma is a malty, estery swirl of dates, red grapes, fruitcake and sweet port. Full-bodied and creamy with soft carbonation. The flavor is medium-sweet, boasting candied dates and raisins with a splash of vintage port. Malty, hearty, warming finish.
