COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vintage Ale is a truly distinguished bottle conditioned beer. Each vintage is a blend of that year’s finest malt and hops, creating a unique limited edition brew. Being bottle conditioned, it is after bottling that the flavours truly begin to develop, and continue to do so well beyond the best before date that we are obliged to state.

The 2009 Vintage features Kent grown Golding Hops and East Anglian Tipple malted barly. It has an intial aroma of rich Muscavado sugar followed by a brandied caramelised

Bottle. Fairly clear and copper with small head that dissipates to about 1/2 cover. Aroma of honey and wet cardboard. Sweet taste with some hops in the finish. Definite honey taste in the sweetness. Decent carbonation. The 8.5% alcohol is well hidden. Not bad but not worth $7.

Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is quite sweet malty, caramel and dried fruit. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 270511

(500ml bottle #3174 thanks to blutt59) Bright orange. Smell matches the appearance with lots of orange. Taste has more malt, graham cracker. A good bit of alcohol, could probably use some more age to tone down the alcohol.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie, caramel), lightly to moderately hoppy (apricot, flowers). Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Par for the course.

Wonderful look, amber color with a thick creamy head. As I’ve been used to in these recent years, the aroma is mostly disappointing: vegetables, cabbage, dust, alcohol and just light caramel. Strong body, with oily mouthfeel; average caramel flavor; the final is oily and nutty. Correct bitterness. This beer ain’t get any better in a few years.

Bottled from Systembolaget Deep, clear amber. Small tan head. Sweet malty and vinous aroma and flavour; toffee. Pretty much alcohol present and a thin body..

Bottle shared with benzai @ café buitenlust, Oirschot. Cloudy, hazy red to brown colour with a big off-white head. Smells malty, nutty, caramel, "bierbostel". Tastes nutty, typical ale, bit boring. Low carbo, medium body.

A big ol’ bottle from the finish of Copenhagen ’10: raisiny aroma. An I tense tobacco and date flavour. Too boozy I reckon. Pushing the limits of delicious.

Cask@GBBF2009. Cobweb aroma. Whiskey hot flavour. Young and crude. Lots of malt. Lots of hop. Not yet rubbing together. Toffee. OK.
