I have crafted the 2010 Vintage with the highest quality Tipple malted barley for the second year running. This aleís main hop character is derived from traditional Golding and Fuggles hops and further enhanced with Dry Hopping, using a blend of the choicest Golding and Target hops. Coupled with the unique Fullerís yeast strain we expect this beer to mature into another íClassicí Vintage! 125,000 bottles produced

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a hazy deep amber orange with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has strong sweet grains and caramel with a bit of of toffee and alcohol backing. Flavor has a bit of pine bitterness up front but is mainly caramel, sweet grains and a bit of alcohol burn.

Clear amber beer, decent pale cream coloured head. Softish palate, smooth and a little dry. Mild carbonation. Creamy malt with unsweet toffee. Trace of marmite. Little dried fruits. Finishes creamy and dry. Not bad but hardly one of their best.

50 cl. bottle poured in to a snifter, Bottle no. 039627. Slightly hazy amber colour with a small, dense off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, earthy hops, faint licorice, raisin and light orange jam. A subtle alcohol burn. Taste is sweet. Full body with a thicker texture and an average carbonation. Long lasting sweet finish with fruits, earthy hops and caramel malts. A little bit of alcohol and bread. A good ageing, a little less sweetness and more fruits would be appreciated.

Feb 2012 Chris Oís Fullers/Gales Tasting. Dryish malt. Hint of vinegar. Some hops. Spicy. OK. Perhaps some palate fatigue setting in now. But the end is in sight.

500ml bottle from Iron Duke, London (£6): Boozy initally with lots of sweetness, some sugar, caramel and background fruits of apple, plum and raisin. Some butterscotch and vanilla too.
Copper to amber with thin, foamy head that holds very well & leaves nice lacing on the glass.
Strong alcohol but not overpowering & it is balanced. Caramel & toffee follows. Background fruits again but with banana added this time.
Smooth, full bodied and with medium carbonation. Very sweety, boozy and balanced with a warming alcohol taste.

A great beer, just like the 2011 version with a brilliant, complex taste that balances a strong alcohol flavour with lots of sweetness and subtle fruits. A very easy beer to drink despite the high abv.

Bottled (No. 008015), 500ml from Sainsburyís in Banbury. Amber to copper with off white head. Smooth and full beer, quite fruity, malt loaf in character with raisin and sultana within the malt. The hop is of the English, earthy type character, perhaps a little woody but certainly not jarring on the palate, some mushroom type flavour perhaps. There is an alcohol kick, but again quite smooth. Very pleasant indeed.
