The 2011 Vintage Ale, our 15th, is brewed with some of the finest of this year’s malt and hops. The malt grist includes a portion produced by Warminster maltings, from organic barley grown by Sir James Fuller on the Nestone Park Estate. This will be married with the choicest Goldings, Organic First Gold and award winning Sovereign hops, to produce a beer with a firm malt base, marmalade notes and a satisfying bitter finish. Individually packaged and numbered, this bottle is one of only one hundred and fifty thousand produced.

Bottle, bought @ LIVA, Kolding.
Very lovely pour. Completely clear amber with a red tint, frothy, off-white head on top. Aroma has sweetness, caramel, leafy notes, pine, floral, red berries (strawberries). Medium carbonation, creamy and tight mouthfeel. Flavour has good caramel sweetness base, lots of floral hops. Some walnuts, a touch of almonds. Lingering, quite bitter finish. It does feel like it’s in its infancy, but it’s still a very good beer.

Bottle number #73785. Poured clear amber with a nice looking, frothy white head, stays quite long. Aroma is alcohol, plums and caramel. Flavor is similar. Full bodied, quite enjoyable, but felt too raw. Alcohol coming through too much in both aroma and flavor to be really enjoyable.
