4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
When my brother texted me from the Great British Beer Festival with a photo of the 2013 draught version he was drinking I thought - donít get mad, get even and opened a 2011 bottle! I wouldnít usually drink this beer so young or in the summer months but wow, this is delicious. Massive frothy head, golden, sweet with an excellent hop balance and long lingering aftertaste. A hard act to follow.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 127865. Good sized milky tan head of medium sized bubbles. Fruity aroma with some marmalade as the description says, vanilla beans, sweet malts and some toffee. Color is a hazy dark copper. Flavor is a bit sweeter than expected for a 2 year old brew. More vanilla, caramel, sweet malts and some butterscotch. Light alcohol presence. I am really diggin this vintage. Finishes malty with a tad of sweetness. A pretty good brew and one of the better recent vintages.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Apricot marmalade, redcurrant, walnuts, raisins, figs and plums in the aroma, which altogether makes for a brandy-like smell. Full, thick body, very fruity flavour. Medium sweet with a moderate bitterness. Well hidden alcohol. Very nice beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml from Auchan (Luxembourg). It pours a hazy amber in colour with a thick white head that diminished. Some light yeast notes in the aroma, but a nice combination between sweet and bitter in the flavour. A very good beer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 16, 2013 Bottle at beer and cheese event in Shoreditch. Pours light amber with a small khaki head which quickly disappears. Nose is very raisin driven. Touch of apricot marmalade and heavy honey. Quite sweet. Very marmaladey and dried fruits in the taste. Heavy sweetness and a little sticky. Bitter sweet finish. Not bad

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours an average rocky off-white head that mostly diminishes. Body is amber and hazy. Aroma contains moderate malts (light bread, hay, roasted malts, molasses), moderate hops (citrus fruits, grass), light yeasts (dough, leather) and furthermore toffee, cola, some smoke, grae, raisin, spices and honey. Flavor starts off light acidic, then goes to sweet and light bitter, to finish in sweetness and a bit more bitterness. The finish is also a bit malty. Body is medium to full, with syrupy texture and soft carbonation. I like it, there's a lot going on without anything being too strong.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Standard boxed bottle from State Line and Caponeís. Pours hazy copper with off-white head. Nose is similar to all the others Iíve had; some caramel malt, brown sugary, dry vinous fruit. Tastes caramel malty, on the dry side, with an ESB flavor profile and a decent hop level, but not to the level that I so desperately crave from a beer such as this, as such. Iím starting to think these are all style and little substance, and that Fullerís owes me punitive damages for jerking me off all these years with vintage beers that are overpriced and underwhelming.
