The 2011 Vintage Ale, our 15th, is brewed with some of the finest of this yearís malt and hops. The malt grist includes a portion produced by Warminster maltings, from organic barley grown by Sir James Fuller on the Nestone Park Estate. This will be married with the choicest Goldings, Organic First Gold and award winning Sovereign hops, to produce a beer with a firm malt base, marmalade notes and a satisfying bitter finish. Individually packaged and numbered, this bottle is one of only one hundred and fifty thousand produced.

Bottle number 131850: I look forward to these every year, although Iíve missed some of late, because I know in advance that Iíll be imbibing a fine brew. This yearís poured a light amber body with a sudsy off-white head. The nose held a floral/herbal spiciness over a woody caramel malt. The flavor had a lemony spritziness, a lightly syrupy, bready sweetness, and an herbal/earthy bitterness. It finished on a moderately bitter note with a touch of alcoholic heat. Very nice.

From a 500ml bottle on 6/2/2014 (bottle no. 061746). Pours a light amber with a medium head which disappears quickly. Has a strong toffee malt aroma. Taste wise, itís malt dominated with toffee, caramel, butterscotch and nuts featuring, along with a good dash of sweet orange, and a touch of booze. It finishes with a mild tart, bitterness. The palate is syrupy and the carbonation average. This is a very pleasant sweet, malty sipper.

Bottle thanks to Sean. Pours a deep amber color with a large white head. Hazy but not as yeasty (particulates) as some versions. The aroma is sweet toffee, berries, wood. The flavor is surprisingly big oxidation which is OK. More berries, toffee, yeast, biscuit, a bit of orange tanginess in the tail. Quite good as usual.

Hazy amber. Thick head. Rich aroma has a lot of caramel malt. Rich malts, chewy, abv is lower on the palate than the 2012. There are hints of the Fuller yeast and the bitterness seems to have dropped a lot with age.

From bottle no. 126789. I bought it in 2011 and cellared it. The pour is copper-orange-amber with a long lasting off-white head. Vaguely cloudy. The aroma is full of sweet and malty characters and something akin to honey The body is medium but it has a slick quality to it. The taste is full of caramel malty sweetness but a low to nearly nil bitterness. Sweetness rues the day.

500ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a golden amber, nice white head. Aromas are mostly marmalade, some honey, all about the malts basically. Taste has a honeyed sweetness, but not too much. Good creamy texture, light oiliness perhaps. Good though.
